We are looking for an experienced Senior Flight Sales Manager to lead our flight sales and ticketing business, drive revenue growth, manage airline relationships, and build a high-performing reservations and sales team.
n
Position Overview
n
The Senior Flight Sales Manager will be responsible for growing Akshar Travels' airline ticketing business while managing day-to-day flight sales operations.
n
This is a senior, target-driven role requiring strong knowledge of international airfare, GDS systems, airline rules, fare construction, ticketing, reissues, refunds, group fares, and customer sales.
n
The ideal candidate should have extensive experience in a travel agency, consolidator, airline ticketing company, or international flight sales environment.
n
Key ResponsibilitiesFlight Sales & Revenue Growth
n
n
- Lead and grow domestic and international airline ticket sales.
n
- Develop strategies to increase economy, premium economy, business class, and corporate ticketing revenue.
n
- Convert flight inquiries into confirmed bookings through timely and professional follow-up.
n
- Handle high-value and complex international travel inquiries.
n
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and repeat business.
n
- Maintain strong relationships with existing clients while developing new accounts.
n
- Monitor individual and team sales targets on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
n
n
Air Ticketing & Reservations
n
n
- Manage reservations, fare quotations, ticket issuance, exchanges, reissues, refunds, and cancellations.
n
- Handle complex international itineraries and multi-city bookings.
n
- Ensure correct fare rules, baggage allowances, visa/transit considerations, and ticketing deadlines are communicated to clients.
n
- Monitor schedule changes, flight cancellations, and airline updates.
n
- Support the team with difficult ticketing cases and escalations.
n
- Ensure bookings are accurately documented and ticketed within airline deadlines.
n
n
GDS & Fare Management
n
n
- Maintain strong working knowledge of major GDS platforms such as Amadeus, Sabre, or Galileo.
n
- Search and compare published, private, consolidator, and negotiated fares.
n
- Understand fare construction, routing rules, penalties, taxes, and airline restrictions.
n
- Monitor competitive airfare and market trends.
n
- Identify better routing and pricing options while maintaining profitability.
n
n
Airline & Supplier Relationships
n
n
- Maintain relationships with airlines, consolidators, wholesalers, and ticketing partners.
n
- Negotiate and identify preferred fares, incentives, commissions, and commercial opportunities.
n
- Coordinate with airline sales teams regarding group blocks, waivers, schedule changes, and special requests.
n
- Stay informed about airline promotions, new routes, fare changes, and industry updates.
n
n
Team Leadership
n
n
- Lead, train, and supervise the flight reservations and sales team.
n
- Set clear sales targets, productivity expectations, and follow-up standards.
n
- Review calls, inquiries, quotations, and conversion performance.
n
- Ensure timely follow-up on every active lead.
n
- Coach team members on sales techniques, airfare knowledge, and customer handling.
n
- Create a high-performance, accountable, and customer-focused sales culture.
n

Customer Service & Retention
n
n
- Ensure clients receive fast, accurate, and professional flight quotations.
n
- Handle VIP, corporate, business-class, and repeat customers.
n
- Resolve escalations relating to fares, ticketing, refunds, schedule changes, and airline disruptions.
n
- Build long-term client relationships and encourage repeat and referral business.
n
- Maintain high service standards before, during, and after travel.
n
n
Performance & Reporting
n
n
- Monitor sales volume, gross profit, conversion rate, ticket count, and agent performance.
n
- Prepare regular sales and productivity reports for management.
n
- Track lost bookings and identify reasons for non-conversion.
n
- Recommend strategies to improve pricing, response time, profitability,
and conversion.
n
- Monitor outstanding payments, ticketing deadlines, and booking accuracy.
n
n
Preferred Experience
n
n
- 5+ years of experience in airline ticketing, flight sales, or travel agency reservations.
n
- Previous experience in a senior, team lead, or managerial role preferred.
n
- Strong experience with international airfare and complex itineraries.
n
- Hands-on experience using Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo, or similar GDS platforms.
n
- Strong understanding of fare rules, reissues, refunds, exchanges, and airline policies.
n
- Experience handling economy and business-class international travelers.
n
- Experience with group air bookings and airline group departments is an advantage.
n
- Strong knowledge of major international routes, especially between the USA and India, Europe, Middle East, Asia, and other key markets.
