Technical Documentation Associate (Avionics & Flight Controls)
Location: Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India Job Type: Full-Time The Voice of Our Engineering In aviation, clarity is safety. We are looking for a Technical Documentation Associate who can translate the complex work of our avionics and flight control engineers into clear, precise, and user-friendly documentation. You will be the crucial link between our engineering innovations and the teams who build, test, and certify them.

Roles and Responsibilities
As a Technical Documentation Associate, you will work at the heart of the engineering team to create and manage critical technical documents. You will:
- Collaborate with Experts: Work directly with avionics, flight controls, and systems engineers to gather information and deeply understand the systems you are documenting.
- Author Key Documents: Write, edit, format, and maintain a wide range of technical documentation, including:
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for lab equipment and test setups.
- User Manuals and guides for proprietary software and hardware.
- Formal Test Procedures for System Integration Lab (SIL), ground, and flight testing.
- Detailed Test Reports summarizing results and findings.
- System Description Documents and technical specifications.
- Ensure Consistency and Quality: Enforce documentation standards, templates, and style guides across all materials to ensure a consistent and professional output.
- Support Certification: Assist in the preparation, review, and organization of comprehensive documentation packages required for civil aerospace certification reviews.
- Manage Document Control: Implement and manage a robust document control system, ensuring proper versioning, review cycles, and archival of all technical documents.
Requirements Required Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- Experience: 2+ years of professional experience as a technical writer, technical editor, or documentation specialist in an engineering or software development environment.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Engineering, or a related field.
- Exceptional Writing Skills: A superior command of the English language, with impeccable grammar, spelling, and a talent for explaining complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
- Technical Aptitude: A proven ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts related to software, electronics, and integrated systems.
- Tool Proficiency:
High proficiency with industry-standard documentation tools, including the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, and Visio).
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous and organized approach, with a keen eye for detail in formatting, consistency, and accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications (Good-to-Haves)
- Aviation/Aerospace Experience: Direct experience creating technical documentation in the aviation or aerospace industry is a significant advantage.
- Knowledge of Standards: Familiarity with aerospace documentation principles and specifications such as ASD-STE100 (Simplified Technical English), S1000D, or ATA iSpec 2200.
- Certification Documentation: Experience contributing to documentation packages for certification to standards like DO-178C, DO-254, or ARP4754A is a major plus.
- Relevant Experience: Experience managing engineering documents within a Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system (like Teamcenter or Windchill) or a dedicated Engineering Document Management System (EDMS).
- Advanced Authoring Tools: Experience with dedicated technical authoring tools like Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or similar.
- Collaboration Tools: Experience using collaborative platforms like Confluence and Jira for documentation management.
- Graphics Skills: Ability to create or edit technical illustrations, diagrams, and flowcharts to supplement written content.
