We are looking for a skilled and experienced Tailor to cut, stitch, alter, and finish garments according to customer requirements and production specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Measure customers accurately and take required garment measurements.
- Cut fabrics according to patterns, measurements, and designs.
- Operate sewing machines and other tailoring equipment.
- Stitch and assemble garments with proper finishing.
- Perform alterations, repairs, resizing, and adjustments.
- Ensure proper fitting, stitching quality, and finishing.
- Read and follow garment patterns and design instructions.
- Select suitable fabrics, threads, and accessories for each job.
- Inspect finished garments for defects and correct any issues.
- Maintain sewing machines, tools, and the work area in good condition.
- Complete orders according to required deadlines.
- Follow workplace safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Tailor.
- Strong sewing and garment-making skills.
- Experience with different types of fabrics and garments.
- Ability to operate industrial and domestic sewing machines.
- Good knowledge of cutting, stitching, alterations, and finishing.
- Positive attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with uniforms, workwear, promotional garments, or custom clothing.
- Knowledge of different sewing techniques and garment construction.
- Experience with overlock, flatlock, and other industrial sewing machines.
