About The Role We are seeking a Night Planner to manage day-to-day UK transportation planning and execution activities during the night shift. The role focuses on TMS-based transportation planning, load optimization, carrier tendering, and shipment execution . The candidate will work independently with UK stakeholders, carriers, and 3PL partners in a time-sensitive operational environment.

The role involves creating, reviewing, and optimizing transportation plans in a Transportation Management System (TMS) , including managing unassigned freight and loads. The planner will perform manual planning and re-optimization based on operational changes, customer priorities, site requirements, and available transport capacity.

The position also includes managing load tenders, monitoring carrier responses, resolving planning failures and data exceptions, and completing shipment execution activities. Accurate shift handovers, documentation, process compliance, and communication with UK stakeholders are key parts of the role.

Key Responsibilities

- Create, review, and optimize transportation plans in TMS.
- Perform re-optimization and manual planning based on operational and customer requirements.
- Create and release load tenders and coordinate with carriers and 3PL partners.
- Monitor tender responses and secure transportation capacity.
- Review system reports and resolve unassigned loads, planning failures, and data exceptions.
- Finalize shipment plans and complete load confirmation and other execution activities.




- Monitor critical transportation movements and address operational issues.
- Maintain accurate shift-handover records covering open activities, risks, dependencies, actions, and owners.

Required Skills

- Hands-on experience in transportation planning, logistics operations, or supply chain execution.
- Working knowledge of a Transportation Management System (TMS).
- Understanding of load planning, transport optimization, shipment planning, carrier tendering, and capacity management.
- Strong spoken and written English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal guidance after training and knowledge transfer.
- Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills.
- Willingness to work permanently on the specified night/early-morning shift from the vendor workspace.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, email communication, and operational reporting.
- Strong focus on process compliance, documentation accuracy, handover quality, and ownership.

Preferred / Good To Have

- Experience with SAP TM/TMS.
- Experience with Blue Yonder.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in transportation planning, logistics, or supply chain execution , with a strong understanding of TMS-based planning and shipment operations.
