ABOUT THE ROLE

F5 Global Talent is hiring an experienced Structural Engineer to support a U.S.-based structural engineering practice on residential and light commercial projects.

You’ll own the structural engineering work from architectural drawings through final construction documents — performing calculations, developing structural solutions, and producing complete drawing sets in coordination with a U.S.-based lead structural engineer.

This is an engineering role, not a drafting-only position. You’ll be expected to independently design beams, columns, walls, floor and roof systems, foundations, wood-framed structures, and gravity and lateral systems.

The right person can move confidently between engineering calculations and construction documentation while producing practical, buildable solutions with minimal day-to-day supervision.

This is a full time, remote role for candidates based in India, with core overlap with U.S. Eastern Time. The typical schedule is approximately 1:00 PM–11:00 PM IST, with occasional adjustments for architect or project meetings.

IMPORTANT: We are looking for 4–6+ years of professional structural design experience. Applications showing primarily drafting or BIM-production experience without hands-on structural calculations and design responsibility are not a fit.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Perform structural design and engineering calculations for residential and light commercial buildings
- Design beams, columns, walls, floor systems, roof systems, and foundations
- Design wood-framed structures and related connections
- Perform gravity and lateral load analysis
- Design shear walls, moment frames, and structural connections
- Perform wind and snow load design for U.S. East Coast projects
- Interpret architectural drawings and independently develop structural solutions
- Produce complete structural construction drawing sets including plans, sections, schedules, and details
- Take projects from architectural drawings through final construction documents




- Coordinate regularly with the lead structural engineer and incorporate technical feedback
- Manage multiple project tasks and meet project deadlines
- Maintain strong coordination between engineering calculations and the final drawing set

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

- 4–6+ years of qualified structural engineering experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a closely related discipline
- Residential and/or light commercial structural design experience
- Strong structural calculation and engineering-design skills
- Experience designing wood-framed structures
- Experience with beams, columns, walls, floor and roof systems, and foundations
- Strong gravity and lateral analysis experience
- Knowledge of shear walls, moment frames, connections, wind loads, and snow loads
- Ability to independently interpret architectural drawings and develop structural solutions
- Experience producing complete structural construction-documentation sets
- Strong Revit structural/BIM skills
- AutoCAD experience
- RISA-3D or equivalent structural-analysis software
- Experience with ForteWeb, HandCalc, MathCAD, Excel, or similar calculation tools
- Comfortable working in U.S. Imperial units — feet, inches, and pounds
- Strong written and spoken English
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
