Position : Store Supervisor
Department :Stores / Logistics
Job Purpose The Store Supervisor is responsible for managing day-to-day store and warehouse activities, including material receiving, storage, inventory control, material issuing, documentation, and dispatch coordination. The role ensures that all materials are properly accounted for, safely stored, and available as per operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities1. Store Operations
- Manage and supervise daily activities of the store.
- Ensure proper receiving, storage, handling, and issuing of materials.
- Maintain an organized and systematic store layout.
- Ensure materials are stored in the correct location with proper identification.
- Monitor the movement of materials in and out of the store.
- Ensure smooth coordination between the store and other departments.
1. Material Receiving
- Receive materials from suppliers and verify quantity and condition.
- Check materials against purchase orders, invoices, delivery challans, and other documents.
- Report shortages, excess quantities, damages, or incorrect materials to the concerned department.
- Ensure proper inward entry for all received materials.
- Coordinate with the Quality and Purchase teams whenever required.
1. Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate stock records for all materials.
- Monitor minimum and maximum stock levels.
- Identify slow-moving, excess, damaged, and obsolete stock.
- Conduct regular physical stock verification.
- Investigate and report stock differences.
- Ensure proper FIFO/FEFO practices wherever applicable.
- Maintain proper bin-wise and item-wise stock records.
1. Material Issuing
- Issue materials only against approved requests/requisitions.
- Verify material requirements before issuing stock.
- Maintain proper records of all material issues.
- Ensure materials are issued in the correct quantity and condition.
- Coordinate with production, maintenance, dispatch,
and other departments for material requirements.
1. Documentation & Records
- Maintain GRN, issue slips, stock registers, material requisitions, and other store documents.
- Update ERP/software/system entries regularly.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports.
- Maintain proper documentation for inward and outward material movement.
- Ensure all store records are accurate and up to date.
1. Team Supervision
- Supervise storekeepers, helpers, loaders, and other store staff.
- Allocate daily work and responsibilities to team members.
- Monitor employee attendance, performance, and discipline.
- Train staff on proper material handling and store procedures.
- Ensure that all team members follow company policies and safety guidelines.
1. Dispatch Coordination
- Coordinate with the dispatch and logistics teams for timely material movement.
- Ensure materials are properly packed and prepared for dispatch.
- Verify dispatch quantities and documents.
- Coordinate with drivers, transporters, and internal departments when required.
- Ensure proper loading and unloading of materials.
1. Safety & Housekeeping
- Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping inside the store.
- Ensure materials are stored safely to avoid damage or accidents.
- Follow all safety rules and company procedures.
- Ensure proper use of PPE by store employees where required.
- Report unsafe conditions, damages, or incidents to management.
- Maintain explicit pathways and proper stacking of materials.
1. Coordination
- Coordinate with Purchase for pending and incoming materials.
- Coordinate with Production for material requirements.
- Coordinate with Quality for material inspection.
- Coordinate with Finance/Accounts for documentation and stock-related queries.
- Coordinate with Dispatch and Logistics for outgoing materials.
- Communicate stock shortages and urgent requirements to management.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Pay: ₹22,000.00 - ₹28,000.00 per month
