ROLE PURPOSE The Store Manager shall be responsible for the receipt, verification, custody, storage, authorised issue, recording and reconciliation of project materials entrusted to Stores.

The role shall ensure that project materials remain safe, identifiable, traceable and available for authorised project requirements, while protecting MEPL against shortages, damage, deterioration, unauthorised movement, excess consumption and loss.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Establish and maintain an organised project store with proper material identification, storage locations, segregation and access control.
- Receive materials against approved PO/WO or authorised procurement references and verify quantity, description, physical condition and supporting delivery documents.
- Record shortages, excess quantities, transit damage or documentation discrepancies promptly and inform the concerned Procurement/Commercial/Project personnel.
- Coordinate with Quality/Engineering for technical inspection wherever required and separately identify accepted, awaiting-inspection, rejected/held, returnable and scrap materials.
- Ensure rejected, unapproved or held materials are not inadvertently issued for project execution.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of material receipts, issues, returns, transfers, balances and other authorised movements in prescribed registers/system/ERP.




- Issue materials only against approved/authorised requirements and maintain explicit traceability of what was issued, how much, when and to whom/work front.
- Maintain proper custody and storage conditions to protect materials from theft, moisture, contamination, deterioration, damage or misuse.
- Monitor stock levels and provide timely visibility of critical/fast-moving/short-supply materials to the Project and Procurement teams without independently creating procurement commitments.
- Conduct periodic physical stock verification and reconcile physical balances with records; investigate and report discrepancies promptly.
- Coordinate return of surplus/reusable materials, inter-site transfers, scrap identification and authorised disposal in accordance with approved MEPL procedures.
- Coordinate material movement and gate documentation with Security, Project, Commercial and concerned teams while maintaining appropriate supporting records.
- Support Finance/Commercial/Project teams with material records required for reconciliation, contractor/customer-supplied materials, audits and project closure.
- At project completion, ensure proper material reconciliation, return/transfer of surplus stock, closure of outstanding material movements and handover of store records.

ACCOUNTABILITY & ROLE BOUNDARIES The Store Manager is the custodian of materials entrusted to Stores and the integrity of corresponding stock records. The Store Manager may verify receipt, control custody, prevent unauthorised issue/movement, seek supporting documents and report/reconcile stock discrepancies.





The Store Manager shall not independently approve technical acceptance, material substitutions, procurement decisions, commercial terms, write-offs or disposal of materials unless specifically authorised under the approved MEPL authority framework.

Stores controls custody and records. Quality/Engineering confirms technical acceptance. Procurement/Commercial controls purchasing. Project Execution controls responsible consumption.

EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES The candidate should preferably have 712 years of project stores/material-management experience in Data Centre, construction, infrastructure, industrial or similar project environments.

Practical experience should include material receipt and issue, inventory control, stock reconciliation, material documentation, ERP/store systems, physical verification, storage practices, contractor/project coordination and audit support.

The role requires integrity, accuracy, organised working, material awareness, record discipline, vigilance, coordination, timely reporting and accountability.
