Responsibilities

- Optimize SQL queries, indexing, concurrency, and database performance.

- Manage database scaling, replicas, Multi-AZ, and high-traffic workloads.

- Automate database provisioning, backups, patching, and recovery.

- Ensure database security, encryption, access control, and compliance.

- Work with backend teams to optimize data models and database access.

- Lead database reliability and critical incident response.

Requirements

- Hands-on experience with Amazon Aurora (PostgreSQL/MySQL).

- Experience managing large-scale production databases.

- Strong AWS knowledge, including VPC, KMS, CloudWatch, and Performance Insights.

- Proficiency in Terraform, Python, or Go.

- Robust understanding of database internals, MVCC, transaction isolation, and WAL.

- Experience with high-availability and 24/7 production environments.

- Strong leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving skills.
