About the Role

We are hiring a Staff Accountant to support the monthly close for a US-based client in the logistics sector. You will work directly with the client's US accounting team on journal entries, reconciliations, and fixed asset management. The work is heaviest during the close, and after that you'll spend your time on reconciliations and process improvement projects.

This is a fully remote role. For about 4 days each month during close, you'll need to work strict US Eastern hours. The rest of the month is flexible.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and post journal entries to support the monthly close
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations, and research and resolve reconciling items on time
- Manage the Oracle Fixed Asset system, including additions, transfers, disposals, monthly depreciation, and Work in Progress assets
- Analyze P&L; accounts before close and identify and escalate unusual variances
- Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and supporting schedules
- Validate general ledger coding on corporate AP invoices for accuracy and completeness
- Set up and maintain vendor and supplier records in the accounting system
- Support ad hoc analysis, audit requests,



and process improvement initiatives
- Assist with transaction accounting overflow as needed

Monthly Work Cadence

- Close days (about 4 days): Month-end close activities during US Eastern business hours, covering journal entries, fixed asset processing, and P&L; analysis
- Following ~1–2 weeks: Complete the balance sheet reconciliations
- Rest of month: Flexible schedule for project work, process improvement, and ad hoc support for the US team

Qualifications

- Chartered Accountant (preferred), or a Bachelor's/Master's in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 3–6 years of general accounting experience, including hands-on month-end close
- Working knowledge of US GAAP
- Oracle experience, especially the Fixed Assets module, strongly preferred; NetSuite a plus
- Strong Excel skills
- Excellent written and spoken English
- High attention to detail and the ability to meet close deadlines
- Able to work independently while keeping in regular contact with a remote US team

Preferred

- Prior experience supporting US clients in a KPO, shared services, or outsourced accounting setup
- Exposure to the logistics, transportation, or freight industry
