As a Senior Security Data Engineer & Developer, you will architect, build, and maintain high‑volume, high‑fidelity security data management platforms to support SIEM, SOAR, UEBA, and detection engineering use cases. You will lead data ingestion, enrichment, and correlation of raw security telemetry, define and enforce data standards, and partner with security and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.

What You'll Do and How You'll Succeed

Data Engineering & Development

- Build integrations using Python, SQL, JavaScript, and other programming languages with AI‑assisted coding.
- Architect, build, and maintain security data pipelines using Cribl (ETL) and Snowflake (Data Lakehouse).
- Lead ingestion, normalisation, enrichment, and correlation of logs, events, metrics, alerts, configuration, scanning, and other telemetry.
- Define and enforce data standards, schemas, and normalisation frameworks (OCSF, SCIM, CVE, CVSS).
- Produce engineering, integration, and process documentation.

Collaboration & Leadership

- Partner with Security Operations, Threat Detection, GRC, and engineering teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Serve as a technical authority and mentor, influencing data engineering, security analytics, and platform strategy.
- Manage vendor relationships to drive roadmap, solution design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
- Conduct POCs of current features to develop innovative solutions.

Governance & Optimisation

- Drive continuous improvement in data reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.
- Manage data governance with reporting and quality checks.
- Research and adopt industry best practices and standards.




- Identify opportunities to enhance baseline processes and configurations.

Experience

- You have a Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- You have 10+ years of experience in Python, JavaScript, SQL, and other programming languages with AI‑assisted coding.
- You have 4+ years of experience with ETL tools such as Cribl, Kafka, or Kinesis.
- You have 2+ years of database engineering experience focused on security data and analytics.
- You have 1+ years of experience with reporting tools such as Power BI.
- You have experience working with large‑scale datasets (batch and streaming).
- You have experience analysing raw data and performing data normalisation.
- You have relevant industry certifications or equivalent work experience.

Technical Expertise

- You have solid knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion, validation, quality checks, and error handling.
- You have familiarity with SIEM products such as Splunk, Elastic, Datadog, AWS CloudTrail, CloudWatch, and Azure Event Hub.
- You have working knowledge of AI/ML technologies (Anthropic, ChatGPT, Gemini, Copilot).
- You have experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- You have familiarity with data standards such as OCSF and SCIM.
- You have experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
