Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Solar Projects Draftsman – Electrical to prepare and manage detailed electrical drawings and documentation for ground-mount solar PV projects. The role will work closely with the Engineering and Projects teams to ensure accurate and execution-ready electrical drawings.

Key Responsibilities

· Prepare detailed electrical drawings for ground-mounted solar PV projects using AutoCAD and relevant drafting tools.

· Develop Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), DC/AC layouts, cable routing, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and electrical interconnection drawings.

· Prepare layouts for solar modules, string arrangements, inverter stations, HT/LT panels, transformers, pooling substations, and transmission systems.

· Prepare detailed drawings for DC and AC cable routing, cable trenches, earthing, lightning protection, and electrical equipment installation.

· Develop electrical drawings based on engineering designs, site surveys, project specifications, and applicable standards.

· Coordinate with Electrical Design Engineers, Project Managers, Site Engineers, and other stakeholders for drawing preparation and revisions.





· Incorporate engineering changes and maintain proper drawing revision and document control.

· Prepare as-built drawings based on actual site execution and approved modifications.

· Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, equipment specifications, cable routes, and constructability.

· Support site teams by providing technical drawings and resolving drawing-related requirements during project execution.

· Coordinate with Civil & Structural Draftsmen/Engineers to ensure proper integration of electrical and structural layouts.

· Maintain drawing records, approved drawings, revisions, and project documentation.

Required Qualifications & Skills

· Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical qualification.

· 7–10 years of relevant experience, preferably in solar EPC / renewable energy projects.

· Strong experience in ground-mount solar PV projects.

· Excellent proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical drafting.

· Good understanding of solar PV electrical systems, HT/LT systems, substations, transformers, inverters, cable routing, earthing, and SLDs.

· Ability to interpret electrical engineering drawings, technical specifications, and project layouts.

· Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.

· Positive coordination and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in large-scale ground-mounted solar projects, utility-scale PV plants, pooling substations, HT evacuation systems, and transmission-related drawings will be preferred.
