About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer specializing in Ruby to join our client’s dynamic team on a remote basis. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of artificial intelligence and software engineering research. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and evaluating large language models (LLMs) by creating datasets and evaluation frameworks that mirror real-world software engineering challenges.

Your work will directly contribute to advancing AI capabilities in understanding, debugging, and generating code, impacting the future of AI-assisted software development tools.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails.



You should have demonstrable expertise with version control systems such as Git, containerization tools like Docker, and experience setting up reproducible software testing pipelines. Familiarity with navigating and modifying complex codebases, along with proficiency in Ruby testing frameworks such as RSpec and Minitest, is essential.

Experience with gem management tools like Bundler and code quality analysis is also required. Prior contributions to open-source projects or experience evaluating open-source repositories will be considered a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer in this role, your primary responsibilities will include analyzing and triaging issues across trending open-source repositories on GitHub to identify suitable evaluation scenarios for LLMs. You will be responsible for setting up and configuring code repositories, including containerizing environments with Docker to ensure reproducibility. Evaluating unit test coverage and assessing code quality metrics will be part of your routine to establish baseline health and robustness of codebases.

You will modify and execute Ruby codebases locally, measuring the performance of LLMs in bug-fixing and code-completion tasks.



Collaboration with AI researchers will be vital in designing and selecting challenging repositories and issues that push the boundaries of current AI capabilities.
