Software Development Engineer (SDE 1/2) – Java / Backend

About Eterna-X builds mission-critical, high-volume payment infrastructure and UPI technolstacks for leading banks, fintechs, and financial institutions. We power low-latency, 99.99% high-availability transaction processing systems at massive scale.

Job Overview We are seeking an SDE 1/2 to build robust, scalable backend microservices, implement high-performance APIs, and contribute to production-grade financial applications across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable REST APIs and backend microservices using Java and

Spring Boot.

Write clean, maintainable, testable code applying SOLID principles, OOP concepts, and design patterns.





Collaborate across the full SDLC, including code reviews, automated unit/integration testing, and deployment.

Work with relational and NoSQL databases to write optimized queries, maintain data integrity, and minimize latency.

Troubleshoot system-level issues across networks and operating systems to ensure maximum platform uptime.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 1 -4 year of full-time, graduate software engineering experience (excluding internships).

Core Tech: Solid proficiency in Core Java (multithreading, collections, memory management) and the Spring/Spring Boot ecosystem.

CS Fundamentals: Solid grasp of OOP, SOLID design principles, Data Structures & Algorithms,

Operating Systems (processes, threads, concurrency), and Computer Networks (HTTP/S, TCP/IP,

REST architecture).

Databases: Working experience with SQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORM frameworks (e.g., Spring Data JPA, Hibernate).

Tooling: Proficiency with Git, build tools (Maven/Gradle), and unit testing libraries (JUnit, Mockito).

Budget: 6 - 18 LPA

Working Location: New Delhi

Nice-to-Have Skills

Exposure of UPI, IMPS Backend stack, Recon, settlement and FRM

Exposure to caching mechanisms (Redis) and asynchronous messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ).

Familiarity with Docker containerization and basic CI/CD workflows.

Prior experience in fintech, payment gateways, or banking integrations.
