About the Role

Clixxo is looking for a hands-on Software Developer – VoIP & Asterisk Focus to develop, customize and maintain telecom and enterprise voice applications. The ideal candidate should have practical experience with Asterisk, SIP, VoIP, Linux and telephony application development, along with the ability to integrate voice platforms with APIs, databases and web-based applications.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, customize and maintain Asterisk-based IP-PBX and VoIP applications.
- Configure and troubleshoot SIP/PJSIP trunks, extensions, dial plans and call routing.
- Develop and manage features such as IVR, queues, hunt groups, conferencing, call recording and voicemail.
- Work with Asterisk Dialplan, AMI, ARI and AGI for telephony application development and integrations.
- Integrate Asterisk/VoIP platforms with APIs, CRM, ERP and other business applications.
- Develop backend services and APIs for telecom applications.
- Work with databases such as MySQL for call records, configurations, reporting and application data.
- Troubleshoot issues related to SIP signalling, RTP/media, NAT, codecs, call quality and connectivity.
- Deploy and maintain VoIP applications on Linux-based servers.
- Work with Git and existing production codebases.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across application, database, server and telephony layers.
- Participate in testing, debugging, performance optimization and feature development.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Electronics, Telecommunications, Communication Engineering or a related field.
- 1–5 years of experience in VoIP, telecom software development or related technologies.




- Solid hands-on knowledge of Asterisk.
- Good understanding of SIP, RTP, VoIP protocols and call flows.
- Experience with Asterisk Dialplan and PJSIP/SIP configuration.
- Practical knowledge of Linux servers and command-line administration.
- Working knowledge of MySQL / SQL.
- Understanding of REST APIs and application integrations.
- Good debugging, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently on existing telecom applications.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following will have an advantage:

- AMI, ARI and AGI
- IP-PBX and enterprise telephony systems
- SIP Trunks and VoIP Gateways
- IVR, Call Queues, Call Recording and Conferencing
- WebRTC
- RTP, codecs, NAT and firewall troubleshooting
- CDR and telecom reporting systems
- Node.js, JavaScript or other backend technologies
- React.js or web-based telecom administration portals
- FreePBX or similar Asterisk-based platforms
- Docker, Nginx/Apache and cloud/VPS environments
- High-availability or large-scale VoIP deployments

Technical Expectations The developer should be capable of handling a telecom feature through the complete cycle: Requirement Analysis → Telephony Logic → Asterisk Configuration/Development → API/Database Integration → Testing → Deployment → Production Support The candidate should be comfortable troubleshooting both software and live VoIP/telephony environments.
