About the Role

Responsive is looking for a product-minded Software Architect with deep technical expertise and a strong track record of designing and scaling multi-tenant B2B SaaS applications.

We are looking for someone who can drive architecture across scalability, security, performance, reliability, and cloud-native systems, while also evaluating and adopting emerging technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic AI, and modern search technologies.

What You’ll Be Doing

- SaaS Architecture: Design and evolve scalable, secure, and reliable multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
- Scalability & Performance: Architect systems to support growing customers, users, workloads, and data volumes while maintaining strong performance.
- Security & Reliability: Define architecture for tenant isolation, access control, data protection, high availability, and fault tolerance.
- Technical Leadership: Lead architecture reviews, drive key technical decisions, mentor engineers, and establish engineering best practices.
- Cloud & Platform Engineering: Design cloud-native solutions across microservices, APIs, databases, caching, messaging, and containerized platforms.
- Emerging Technologies: Evaluate and guide the adoption of LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, AI orchestration, semantic search, and other emerging technologies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, product, security, and infrastructure teams to align technology decisions with business goals.

What We’re Looking For

Education:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience:

- 14 years of software engineering experience,



with at least 5 years in architecture or senior technical leadership roles.
- Strong experience designing and scaling multi-tenant B2B SaaS or enterprise applications.

Skills, Qualifications & Ability:

- Deep understanding of multi-tenant SaaS architecture, including tenant isolation, data segregation, authorization, and configuration.
- Robust experience with distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and cloud-native architectures.
- Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and backend system design.
- Experience with React and modern frontend technologies, with a good understanding of frontend architecture and integration with backend services.
- Experience with MongoDB, SQL/NoSQL databases, caching, messaging, and event-driven architectures.
- Strong knowledge of scalability, performance optimization, high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
- Strong understanding of application security, cloud security, authentication, authorization, and data protection.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD.
- Experience with observability, monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing.
- Understanding of LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, AI agents, semantic search, vector search, and AI orchestration frameworks.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, mentoring, and technical leadership skills.
