Role Description

We are hiring a Shopify Developer with 4 years of hands-on experience to build Shopify stores and custom themes from scratch for multiple brands.

You will take a Figma design and deliver a production-ready store, covering setup, architecture, development, integrations, and launch, and then maintain and optimize it after go-live.

You will also work on headless setups, where Shopify is the shared commerce backend, and the frontend is a separate application built in a technology such as React or Next.js. Knowledge of headless setups is an additional advantage and is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

1. Build custom Shopify themes from scratch using Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript on Online Store 2.0, based on Figma designs.
2. Set up and configure Shopify stores end-to-end, including products, collections, metafields, metaobjects, markets, shipping, tax, and payments.
3. Build catalog-heavy and interactive features such as variant selectors, bundles, filtering, search, quizzes, and wishlists.
4. Integrate third-party apps (reviews, email/SMS, search, analytics) and resolve app and script conflicts.
5. Build custom integrations with ERPs, CRMs, and other systems using webhooks and the Admin API.
6. Migrate stores from WooCommerce, Magento, or BigCommerce to Shopify, including data and URL redirects.
7. Optimize Core Web Vitals and page speed, and implement tracking (GA4, GTM, Meta Pixel).
8. Support Shopify Markets, multi-currency, and localization.
9. Ensure accessibility (WCAG/ADA), SEO, and privacy compliance in every build.
10. Manage QA, staging, go-live, and post-launch support within agreed SLAs.
11. Follow Git-based workflows and code reviews, and collaborate with designers, project managers, and QA.





Additional Responsibilities (Headless Setup, Not Mandatory)

1. Build decoupled frontends in React, Next.js, or a similar framework that use Shopify as the backend through the Storefront and Admin APIs.
2. Design headless architecture covering routing, data fetching, caching, rendering (SSR, SSG, ISR), cart, checkout handoff, customer accounts, and deployment on Vercel or Netlify.
3. Support multiple frontends on a single shared Shopify backend.
4. Integrate a headless CMS (Contentful, Sanity, Strapi, or similar) with Shopify.

Required Skills and Qualifications

1. 4 years of professional Shopify development experience, including at least 2 complete theme or store builds from scratch.
2. Strong proficiency in Liquid, HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+).
3. Deep experience with the Shopify Storefront API and Admin API (GraphQL and REST).
4. Deep hands-on experience with Online Store 2.0, sections, blocks, metafields, and metaobjects.
5. Ability to convert Figma designs into production-ready Shopify themes.
6. Experience with Shopify CLI, Git, and staging-to-production workflows.
7. Robust understanding of performance, SEO, and accessibility best practices.
8. Clear communication and a strong sense of ownership.

Good to Have

1. Headless setup experience: delivering a project in production with Shopify as the backend and a separate frontend in React, Next.js, or a similar framework (Vue, Nuxt).
2. Understanding of headless architecture (additional, not mandatory), including API-driven data flow, SSR, SSG, ISR, caching, and customer authentication.
3. Experience with Hydrogen and Oxygen.
4. Experience with Shopify Plus, checkout extensibility, and Shopify Functions.
5. Experience with TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, and a headless CMS.
6. Experience with one shared Shopify backend serving multiple frontends or regional sites.
7. Familiarity with Klaviyo, Yotpo, Judge.me, Recharge, Gorgias, and similar apps.
8. Experience building custom Shopify apps (Node.js, Remix).
9. Exposure to AI-assisted development tools and workflows.
10. Shopify certifications.
