Shopify & Web Systems Intern | RFCharge | Remote Internship

RFCharge is looking for a Shopify & Web Systems Intern to join our team and work on the day-to-day development, maintenance and improvement of our e-commerce website.

This is a hands-on role. You’ll be working on a live Shopify store, managing product and catalogue information, making website changes, working on SEO and helping troubleshoot issues as they come up.

You don’t need to know everything when you join. What matters is that you have a reasonable technical foundation, can learn independently and are comfortable figuring out problems instead of waiting for someone to give you every step.

✦ WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

- Managing and maintaining our Shopify store
- Adding and updating products, collections, variants and catalogue information
- Keeping product data accurate and organised
- Making website changes using HTML and CSS
- Working with Shopify themes and Liquid
- Making basic JavaScript changes where required
- Fixing layout, responsive-design and front-end issues
- Checking the website regularly for broken links, incorrect content and other issues
- Working on technical and on-page SEO
- Monitoring Google Search Console and investigating indexing issues
- Working with page titles, descriptions, headings and internal links
- Maintaining Google Merchant Center and product feeds
- Working with Shopify apps and third-party integrations
- Assisting with Google Analytics and website tracking
- Helping with Cloudflare and DNS-related tasks when required
- Working on website performance and PageSpeed improvements




- Testing website changes before they are published
- Maintaining documentation and simple SOPs for recurring tasks

✦ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

You should have a basic understanding of HTML and CSS, some familiarity with JavaScript, and a genuine interest in websites and e-commerce.

Shopify experience is preferred, but it isn’t essential if you have a positive web-development foundation and are willing to learn.

More importantly, you should be able to take a problem, research it, understand what is happening and work towards a solution before asking someone else to solve it for you.

Attention to detail is important. You’ll be working on a live store, product information and technical settings where small mistakes can affect customers and the business.

✦ THE KIND OF PERSON WE’RE LOOKING FOR





Someone who enjoys figuring things out.

You might spend the morning updating a product catalogue, then fix a Shopify theme issue, investigate an indexing problem in Search Console and finish the day checking a website change before it goes live.

The role also includes routine work such as product updates, catalogue cleanup and website QA. If you only want development work and don’t want to handle operational website work, this probably isn’t the right role.

- Duration: 12 Weeks (Extendable as per performance)
- Mode: Remote
- Stipend: Fixed plus performance-based incentives (if applicable)
