Skill must required for Fabric To Process, knowledge of Fabric & yarn, Weaving techniques, Process of different fabrics, Knowledge of Dyeing techniques yarn dyed and fabric dyed, Market analysis, Trend analysis.

Job Purpose

To coordinate in ensuring processes being followed as per standard procedures in Y&D; and finishing departments as well as analysing reasons behind rejected or reprocessed fabric. To coordinate in analysing yarn dyeing defects. To coordinate in taking corrective actions with regard to customer complaints in coordination with marketing, TQM yarn & dyeing and finishing departments. To coordinate in analysing yarn dyeing defects and in developing process routes for samples (yardages & desk looms) and new products. To manage worker handling in PDC.

Job Context & Major Challenges

PDC (Product Development & Control) is for Y&D; and finishing departments. The major responsibilities of this department includes monitoring trials for developing new process routes, new finishes, recent shade development etc. Also, the section looks after process controls in Y&D; and Finishing (also identifying off standards). The section plays a major role in analyzing reasons for defect in finished fabric, based on customer complaints.

Challenges

- Identifying reasons for defect in yarn and fabric, which are sometimes untraceable in software systems
- Deciding process routes in order to process rejected fabric for customer approval.

KRA1 To coordinate in ensuring processes being followed as per standard procedures in Y&D; and finishing departments

- Ensuring machines being operated as per recommended conditions of pressures, temperature etc.

- Monitoring dyeing trials for new products or for critical dyes and ensuring new chemical testing against standard parameters

- Monitoring trial tests for all new chemicals procured

- Communicating any off-standards for corrective and preventive actions

KRA2 To coordinate in analysing reasons behind rejected or reprocessed fabric

- Mapping and analysing reasons for machine defects using detailed machine charts

- Identifying reasons for dye or chemical defects by carrying out chemical/physical tests

- Coordinating with concerned managers to decide on reprocessing or re-correction of yarn/fabric

KRA3 To coordinate in analysing yarn dyeing defects

- Analysing recipe sheets and data fed in software to carry out root cause analysis

- Discussing defect reasons with respective HODs and sharing rejection report

KRA4 To coordinate in taking corrective actions with regard to customer complaints

- Communicating customer complaints and analysed reasons to respective HODs for initiating preventive actions

- Coordinating in finding corrective actions to address customer complaint

KRA5 To coordinate in developing process routes for samples (yardages & desk looms) and recent products

- Coordinating in finalising process routes for desk looms and yardages

- Checking produced samples against customer requirements and initiating discussion on corrective actions, in case of errors

- Coordinate with marketing, Y&D; and finishing teams simultaneously to address customer complaints

KRA6 To coordinate in worker handling

- Managing leave, absenteeism and late coming of workers and sub-staff

- Providing training to follow-up production of yardages and desk looms on shop floor

- Providing technical testing training for checking yardages and desk looms
