About the role Matrimony.com's wedding services portfolio helps millions of Indian families plan weddings. It includes Mandap.com (venues), WeddingBazaar.com (wedding vendors), MatrimonyBiodata.com (biodata creation) and WeddingGiftBox.com along with their apps. We're hiring an SEO lead to own organic growth across all four brands.

That covers classic search and the newer AI answer surfaces: Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude. You'll set the strategy, drive execution with the product and tech teams, and be accountable for organic traffic and leads. What you'll own 1.

SEO strategy and growth • Build and run the organic growth roadmap for each brand, with explicit targets for traffic, rankings, leads and conversions.

- Own local and city-level SEO at scale: venue and vendor listing pages across hundreds of cities and categories (for example "banquet halls in Anna Nagar" or "bridal makeup artists in Hyderabad").
- Run keyword and intent research across English and Indian-language queries, and turn it into page templates and content plans.
- AI search optimisation (AEO/GEO) • Make our brands the answer that AI engines cite and recommend for wedding, biodata and astrology queries.
- Put in place structured data, entity optimisation, answer-first content and LLM readable site structure.
- Track brand visibility and citation share across AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, and build reporting for it.




- Technical SEO • Own technical health for large, template-driven sites: crawl budget, indexation, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript rendering, internal linking, canonicals, hreflang and faceted navigation.
- Write clear SEO requirements for product and tech teams, get them prioritised into sprints, and QA every release.
- Run regular audits and fix issues before they cost traffic.
- Content and authority • Guide the content team on high-intent guides, programmatic pages and user generated content such as reviews, real weddings and vendor profiles.
- Build E-E-A-T and authority through digital PR, partnerships and ethical link acquisition.
- App store optimisation (ASO) and app indexing • Drive ASO on Play Store and App Store, and set up deep linking and app indexing so web and app search work together.
- Measurement and leadership • Own SEO dashboards in GA4, Search Console and your preferred tools, and report organic impact on leads and revenue.
- Lead and mentor a team of SEO executives and specialists, and manage agencies where needed.

What you'll bring • 5+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally on marketplaces, classifieds, directories or consumer internet sites with more than 1 million pages.

- A strong grasp of technical SEO and a track record of shipping changes with engineering teams.
- Working knowledge of AI search: how LLMs retrieve and cite sources, schema and entity SEO, and AI Overview optimisation.
- Experience with local SEO at scale and with programmatic SEO.
- Skill with tools such as GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs or Semrush, and Looker Studio. SQL or Python is a plus.
- Clear communication and the influence to align product, tech and content teams on shared priorities.
