We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Officer to ensure a secure and healthy working environment across our manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for implementing workplace safety programs, ensuring statutory compliance, conducting risk assessments, and promoting a strong safety culture throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with the Factories Act, 1948 and all applicable EHS regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and workplace risk assessments.
Identify hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and prepare detailed reports.
Ensure implementation and monitoring of PPE compliance across departments.
Organize safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
Develop and maintain safety procedures, SOPs, and emergency response plans.
Coordinate fire safety inspections, mock drills, and emergency preparedness activities.
Maintain statutory records and prepare compliance reports for regulatory authorities.
Monitor contractor safety and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Promote behavioral safety initiatives and continuous improvement in workplace safety.
Liaise with government authorities, auditors, and external agencies on safety-related matters.
Experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing or engineering industries.
