We are looking for a Jira Administrator with strong TechOps fundamentals to architect and implement a centralized request management framework in Jira. The role requires hands-on experience with Jira administration, automation, and permissions, complemented by core TechOps skills essential for secure, reliable, and scalable system operations.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Jira design and configuration:

- Design and configure a centralized landing page/dashboard in Jira for request intake.
- Create and manage Jira boards with tailored JQL filters.
- Manage custom workflows, issue types, fields, and screens to support the request lifecycle.

Automation and request routing:

- Develop and implement Jira Automation rules to direct requests based on defined routing criteria (e.g., components, labels).
- Establish fallback and alert mechanisms for misrouted or failed automation flows.

Access and permissions:

- Define user roles and permission schemes for secure and scoped access across groups.
- Set up board-level access controls and validate role-based restrictions.

System administration and governance:

- Perform system health checks, troubleshooting, and regular Jira maintenance.
- Implement audit logging, change management, and configuration documentation.

Collaboration and Agile delivery:

- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Support sprint planning and delivery with Agile board setup and backlog grooming.

Integrations:

- Maintain integration hygiene across Jira, Confluence, and external systems (e.g., CI/CD, monitoring).

Jira Administration:

- Jira Software configuration (projects, boards, workflows, schemes)
- Jira Automation (native and ScriptRunner/Groovy scripting)

- Jira Query Language (JQL)
- Issue security, permission schemes, user/group management
- Agile and Scrum board management

TechOps & System Administration:

- Basic Linux/Unix system administration (e.g., log inspection, service restarts, file permissions)
- User and access management (LDAP/AD integration experience is a plus)
- Shell scripting or automation scripting (e.g., Bash, Python)
- Experience working with Atlassian tools in a self-hosted or Data Center workplace
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) for Jira uptime and performance
- Understanding of networking basics (DNS, firewalls, reverse proxies)
- Backup, recovery, and configuration export/import in Jira
- Knowledge of Jira Service Management (JSM) and customer portals
- Experience with Confluence, including knowledge base and linked documentation
- Hands-on with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Bamboo) for DevOps collaboration
- Atlassian Certifications (e.g., ACP-100, ACP-600)
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) for Jira Cloud migrations or integrations

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology Engineering or a related field.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
