About Role

As the Senior Talent Acquisition Lead, you will take end-to-end ownership of talent strategy across PedalStart’s internal team as well as supporting portfolio startups. You will act as a strategic talent partner, identifying high-potential talent across business, product, tech, and operations, while establishing robust recruitment frameworks suited for fast-paced startup environments. Key Responsibilities

- Strategic Sourcing & Pipeline Building

● Design and execute proactive, multi-channel candidate sourcing strategies (LinkedIn Recruiter, startup networks, founder communities, specialised tech/business forums).

● Build a sustainable pipeline of high-calibre leadership, technical, and operational talent for PedalStart and portfolio startups.

● Map market talent pools, industry trends, and competitive startup hiring practices.

- End-to-End Recruitment Ownership

● Manage full lifecycle recruitment across all non-tech and tech functions (Sourcing → Screening → Evaluation → Negotiation → Offer Closure → Onboarding).

● Partner directly with founders, core leadership, and portfolio startup heads to understand hiring priorities and craft targeted job specifications.





● Establish rapid-turnaround hiring processes without compromising on candidate quality or cultural alignment.

- Employer Branding & Ecosystem Engagement

● Drive employer branding initiatives to position PedalStart as a preferred career destination in the Indian startup ecosystem.

● Represent PedalStart at campus drives, startup hackathons, industry conferences, and founder meetups.

● Cultivate long-term relationships with active job seekers, passive talent, and university placement cells. 4. Process Optimisation & HR Analytics

● Implement metrics-driven hiring practices, tracking key performance indicators such as Time-to-Hire, Cost-per-Hire, Offer Acceptance Rate, and Quality-of-Hire.

● Implement and manage Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and modern recruitment AI tools to optimise the hiring workflow.

● Continuously refine interview rubrics, candidate evaluation scorecards, and offer structuring templates.

Qualifications & Skill Requirements

● Experience: 4 to 7 years of core recruitment experience, with at least 2+ years leading talent acquisition in a high-growth startup, incubator, accelerator, or venture builder ecosystem.

● Sourcing Mastery: Proven expertise in passive candidate sourcing, headhunting, and candidate engagement using advanced search techniques and non-traditional channels.

● Stakeholder Management: Ability to act as a consultative advisor to founders, founders-in-residence, and senior executives.

● Negotiation & Closing: Strong background in candidate offer negotiation, salary benchmarking, equity/ESOP discussions, and candidate relationship management.

● Culture Fit: Entrepreneurial mindset with high ownership, adaptability, and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-changing startup landscape.

- Hiring Velocity: Maintain an average Time-to-Fill under 30–45 days for critical roles
- Candidate Experience: Achieve 90%+ candidate satisfaction across all interview stages.
- Portfolio Support: Successfully place key mid-to-senior hires for portfolio startups.
- Offer Acceptance Rate: Maintain an Offer Acceptance Rate above 80%.
