Position Summary:

As a Senior Software Engineer (Front-End Development) at Ferguson, you will design, develop, and maintain modern, responsive, and scalable web applications that power our eCommerce platform. You will work closely with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineers to deliver high-quality customer experiences using React.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern front-end development practices. You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through deployment and production support.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, and maintain responsive, performant, and accessible web applications using React.js and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Build reusable UI components and front-end frameworks that promote consistency and scalability.




- Integrate front-end applications with REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to deliver high-quality customer-facing experiences.
- Translate designs and business requirements into clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Optimize application performance, usability, and responsiveness across browsers and devices.
- Own features through the full software development lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment and production support.
- Develop and maintain automated unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
- Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and Agile development activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, performance, and production issues.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes in Kubernetes-based environments.
- Follow engineering best practices for code quality, testing, security, reliability, and maintainability.

Required Qualifications:

- 4+ years of software development experience with a strong focus on front-end development.
- Strong hands-on experience with React.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Experience building scalable, responsive, and customer-facing web applications.
- Experience integrating applications with REST and GraphQL APIs.
- Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and modern front-end development practices.




- Experience with state management and component-based architecture.
- Familiarity with front-end testing frameworks and automated testing practices.
- Experience working with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile development methodologies.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes-based deployment environments and modern application delivery practices.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
- Experience working with global teams.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Experience building eCommerce, retail, distribution, marketplace, or other customer-facing digital applications.
- Familiarity with microservices-based environments and API-driven application development.
- Exposure to cloud and/or on-premises platforms.
