Role: Senior Kafka Developer

We are looking for an experienced Kafka Developer to design, develop, test, deploy, and support secure and resilient event-driven applications and integrations on an enterprise Apache Kafka platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain Java, Spring Boot & Spring Kafka producers, consumers, and event-driven microservices.
- Design and implement Kafka topics, partitions, message keys, consumer groups, offsets, retries, DLTs, idempotency, and delivery semantics .
- Build Kafka Streams applications and Kafka Connect integrations for real-time transformation, routing, enrichment, and aggregation.
- Implement data contracts and schema evolution using Avro, JSON Schema, or Protobuf .
- Work with Kafka security including TLS/mTLS, SASL/SCRAM, ACLs, certificates, keystores, truststores, and secrets management .
- Troubleshoot Kafka connectivity, authentication, routing, DNS, firewall, certificate, latency, and replication issues across hybrid environments.
- Develop automated unit, integration, contract, performance, resilience, failover, and recovery tests .
- Work with Git, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, and shell scripting for deployment/configuration automation.
- Implement application observability using logging, metrics, tracing, health checks, consumer-lag monitoring, and alerts .




- Participate in code/design reviews, defect triage, performance tuning, production-readiness reviews, incident analysis, and RCA.
- Prepare technical documentation, runbooks, deployment procedures, test results, and knowledge-transfer materials.
- Mentor junior developers and collaborate with architecture, security, cloud, network, QA, and application teams.
