Business Unit Overview: Flipkart Commerce Cloud (FCC)

Flipkart Commerce Cloud (FCC) is the global enterprise wing of Flipkart, providing AI-driven retail intelligence to international retailers. We offer a modular SaaS suite including Marketplace technology, Retail Media platforms, and Pricing engines, built on Flipkart's homegrown expertise in navigating complex markets. We empower global enterprises across the world to unlock high-margin revenue through scale-tested technology.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Technical Leadership & Team Management: Lead and scale a multi-disciplinary engineering organization of 20-30 engineers across frontend, backend, and QA functions. You are a leader of leaders, managing a team of engineering managers and senior ICs while staying close enough to architecture to provide meaningful technical direction on critical bets.
- E2E Systems Ownership: Own engineering outcomes across the full stack, from UI and API layers to backend services, data pipelines, and platform infrastructure. You hold the bar on system design, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence across all layers of the product.
- AI-Led PDLC: Champion and institutionalize AI-assisted product and engineering workflows across your teams. This means driving adoption of AI in requirements analysis, design, code generation, test automation, and release processes. You identify where AI augmentation creates leverage and make it stick operationally.
- Strategy & Goal Management: Own engineering OKRs for your scope. Translate business and product strategy into quarterly engineering plans, manage dependencies across teams,



and create accountability structures that surface risk early.
- Mentorship & Career Growth: Build clear career frameworks for managers and individual contributors. Run structured performance cycles, identify high-potential talent, and create development paths that retain and grow top engineers in a competitive market.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product Management, Design, Business Development, and Customer Success to deliver SaaS product increments that are customer-ready, scalable, and commercially differentiated. Represent engineering at the leadership table in roadmap and prioritization discussions.
- Architecture & Engineering Excellence: Set and enforce architectural standards for distributed, multi-tenant SaaS systems. Drive adoption of best practices in API design, service decomposition, observability, security, and CI/CD. Raise the baseline of engineering craft across your organization.
- Thrive in Ambiguity: FCC operates at startup speed inside a large organization. You are comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, building structures where none exist, and keeping teams aligned and productive through organizational change.

Experience & Qualifications

- Overall Experience & Leadership: 14 or more years in software engineering, with at least 4 years in engineering management, including a minimum of 2 years directly managing other managers. A track record of building and scaling product engineering organizations in enterprise or SaaS contexts.
- Leader of Leaders: Demonstrated ability to hire, develop,



and lead engineering managers. You have built management pipelines, not just IC pipelines.
- AI-Led PDLC: Hands-on experience embedding AI tooling into the product development lifecycle. This is not familiarity with AI in theory. You have meaningfully changed how teams write, test, review, or ship code using AI, and you can speak to outcomes.
- Enterprise SaaS Background: Experience in organizations building and operating multi-tenant SaaS products at scale. You understand the constraints and expectations that come with enterprise customers, including reliability SLAs, configurability, data isolation, and compliance.
- Full-Stack Technical Depth: Solid grounding in distributed systems, API design, and backend architecture.
- Testing & Execution: Experience establishing engineering quality practices across frontend, backend, and integration layers. Comfort with Agile delivery at organizational scale.
- Education: BTech/BE, MTech/ME, or equivalent in any engineering or science discipline.

Desirable Experience

- Java-Based Technology Stacks: Familiarity with Java and related enterprise backend technologies is a plus, given FCC's technology landscape.
- AI Feature Development: Prior experience shipping AI-powered product features, whether LLM-based, ML-model-driven, or agentic. You understand the product and engineering tradeoffs that come with building AI features for enterprise customers.
- Frontend or Mobile Exposure: Hands-on background in UI engineering or mobile platforms, helpful given the full-stack scope of the role.
- Enterprise Commerce or Retail Technology Background: Prior experience in SaaS organizations serving enterprise customers in e-commerce, retail technology, or adjacent platform domains. Familiarity with concepts like catalog management, pricing, promotions, checkout, or marketplace operations is a strong plus.
