We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer – AI Platform with strong hands-on experience in Pulumi to support and modernize data platforms for a healthcare technology environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end-to-end design and delivery of event-driven microservices — API contracts, business logic, event publishing, error handling, and tests.
- Architect Python/FastAPI services on AWS EventBridge with straight-through-processing (STP) tier stamping, idempotency, and dead-letter handling designed in from day one.
- Design and integrate AWS Bedrock AgentCore agents across decisioning, scheduling, monitoring, and intelligence services; own prompt iteration and evaluation for those agents.
- Engineer agent reasoning chains, tool definitions, structured outputs, and fallback/escalation prompts that degrade gracefully to human-in-the-loop STP tiers.
- Build evaluation harnesses that replay seed-data scenarios against updated prompt versions and compare STP tier outcomes; feed agent metrics into Redshift materialized views.
- Mentor mid-level engineers through design reviews and pair programming; raise the bar on quality, performance, and observability.
- Work with the Data Engineer to validate seed-data column mappings from the legacy schema to the target platform schema.
- Deliver against fixed weekly milestone gates and lead cross-service integration testing across the full STP funnel.

Required Qualifications

- 7–9 years of backend engineering experience with a track record of shipping production systems; Python strongly preferred.
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs — agent design, prompt engineering, structured output, and tool/function calling — including multi-step agent orchestration, RAG/knowledge-base grounding, confidence-based escalation,



and evaluating prompt changes against replayable test scenarios.
- Deep expertise in FastAPI or an equivalent async framework and event-driven microservice design.
- Robust AWS experience: EventBridge, ECS Fargate, Lambda, RDS PostgreSQL, and DynamoDB.
- Strong event-driven architecture knowledge: at-least-once delivery, idempotency, dead-letter handling, and saga patterns.
- Strong PostgreSQL experience, including schema design, constraint authoring, and index strategy.
- Ability to own services end-to-end in a fast-moving, milestone-gated sprint without hand-holding.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and lead technical discussions.
- Practical experience leveraging an agentic AI platform such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot Agents across the software development lifecycle, with the ability to integrate AI-assisted workflows into team practices for coding, testing, review, and delivery.

AI-Assisted Engineering

AI-assisted engineering is core to the development environment. Hands-on fluency with agentic AI platforms across the software development lifecycle is essential for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

- Healthcare domain experience: EDI 270/271 / 837/835 transactions, Medicaid eligibility, or claims workflows.
- Prompt evaluation frameworks: LangSmith, PromptFlow, or custom evaluation harness experience.
- Kinesis Data Streams consumer implementation and real-time telemetry ingestion patterns.
- React 18 / TypeScript / Tailwind CSS; ESRI or Google APIs for real-time map UIs.
- Pulumi Infrastructure-as-Code, AWS multi-AZ deployment patterns, and Redshift Serverless materialized view design.

Pay: Up to ₹3,000,000.00 per year
