Work from office only. No work-from-home arrangement.

For candidates relocating to Bangalore, stay and food will be provided by Lamp Crafts. Compensation for candidates availing themselves of this facility will be structured separately.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Architectural Lighting Designer who understands that lighting design is much more than placing fixtures or producing a DIALux calculation.

You should be capable of understanding architecture, interpreting design intent and developing lighting solutions that are technically sound, visually appropriate and commercially practical.

You will work closely with the Lamp Crafts team, architects, interior designers, clients, suppliers and project teams.

Your responsibilities will include

- * Developing architectural lighting concepts and solutions.
- * Understanding architectural drawings, plans, elevations and reflected ceiling plans.
- * Preparing lighting layouts and documentation.
- * Using DIALux Evo / Relux for lighting calculations and simulations.
- * Analysing photometric data and understanding luminaire performance.
- * Selecting appropriate luminaires based on application and design intent.
- * Understanding beam angles, lumen output, CCT, CRI, glare, optics, drivers and other relevant technical parameters.
- * Working with a wide range of architectural lighting products and international brands.




- * Preparing lighting presentations, proposals and project documentation.
- * Reviewing lighting designs and recommending improvements.
- * Coordinating with architects, interior designers, consultants and project teams.
- * Participating in client meetings and design discussions.
- * Supporting projects from concept through execution.
- * Visiting project sites when required.
- * Coordinating with suppliers/manufacturers for technical information and product requirements.
- * Supporting installation, aiming, focusing and final lighting adjustments where required.
- * Mentoring and supporting junior members of the design team.

- * Has strong practical knowledge of architectural lighting.
- * Can independently handle lighting-design assignments.
- * Understands why a particular lighting solution is being proposed, rather than simply knowing how to produce it.

- * Has good technical understanding as well as design sensitivity.
- * Can communicate comfortably with architects, designers and clients.
