Position Summary

The Senior Learning Experience & Technology Designer helps ensure employees can quickly find, understand, and apply the information and training they need across an increasingly complex learning and technology environment.

This role owns the design, development, publishing, and ongoing maintenance of digital learning and performance-support solutions across HealthStream, SharePoint, Articulate 360, video, reference guides, and the organizations Digital Adoption Platform (WalkMe or comparable tool). Working with subject matter experts and learning partners, the role translates complex processes and content into accessible, intuitive, and scalable learning experiences while ensuring the platforms that deliver them are organized, reliable, and easy to maintain.

During the first year, this role will establish and strengthen the foundational learning ecosystem by owning HealthStream administration, building and maintaining DAP experiences, improving and governing Learning Hub/SharePoint content, producing priority eLearning, video and reference resources and maintaining reusable standards, templates, QA practices, and asset-management processes that improve consistency and reduce future development and maintenance effort.

Responsibilities

Instructional Design and Learning Content Development

- Partner with project leads, learning consultants, SMEs, and stakeholders to understand the audience, performance need, learning objectives, source content, and desired learner experience.
- Work effectively from varying levels of project definition—independently shaping the instructional approach when needed or transforming established objectives, outlines, and approved content into a highly effective learning experience.
- Apply instructional design, adult learning, UX, and visual design principles to determine how content should be organized, simplified, sequenced, practiced, reinforced, and presented.
- Translate complex or technical information into clear, engaging, accessible learning content that supports the intended performance outcome.
- Develop or recommend appropriate scenarios, practice activities, knowledge checks, assessments, and other learning elements aligned to the objectives.
- Identify content gaps, unclear direction, learner experience risks, or technical constraints early and provide practical recommendations.
- Collaborate through review and revision cycles while preserving content accuracy, instructional intent, and the quality of the learner experience.

eLearning Development

- Design, build, test, publish, and maintain high-quality eLearning using Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise, and other approved development tools.
- Transform approved objectives, outlines, storyboards, and source content into engaging, polished, accessible, and intuitive learning experiences.
- Apply strong development judgment to screen design, interactions, visual hierarchy, navigation, pacing, multimedia, practice, feedback, and assessments.
- Build purposeful scenarios, simulations, branching, software demonstrations, knowledge checks, and other interactions aligned to the learning objectives.
- Apply organizational branding, accessibility standards, responsive-design principles, and technical requirements throughout development.
- Conduct comprehensive quality assurance testing for functionality, navigation, media, accessibility, responsiveness, completion, and overall learner experience.
- Troubleshoot development, publishing, and tracking issues and incorporate feedback while preserving instructional intent and technical quality.
- Maintain organized source files, published packages, version history, and reusable templates or components to support efficient future maintenance.

Reference guide development and performance support

- Design and develop clear, visually polished reference guides, PDFs, job aids, checklists, process guides, and other performance-support resources.
- Transform complex processes and source content into concise, easy-to-use materials that help employees perform tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Apply strong information design, visual hierarchy, screenshots, graphics, callouts, and navigation to improve usability and comprehension.
- Ensure materials align with organizational branding, accessibility requirements, and established content standards.
- Maintain editable source files, approved versions, and reusable templates to support efficient updates and consistency across learning products.

Video and Multimedia Development

- Create and maintain video tutorials, software demonstrations, microlearning videos, and other multimedia learning assets using tools such as Camtasia and Adobe applications.
- Translate processes and instructional content into clear, concise visual demonstrations that support learning and point-of-need performance.
- Develop scripts, screen recordings, AI voice over narration, graphics, callouts, and other visual elements that enhance understanding without unnecessary complexity.
- Ensure multimedia products meet organizational standards for branding,



accessibility, audio/visual quality, and the intended delivery platform.
- Maintain editable project files and reusable assets to support efficient updates and consistency across future learning products.

SharePoint/Learning Hub Design/Maintenance

- Design, build, publish, and maintain SharePoint and HRG Learning Hub pages that provide an intuitive, engaging, and easy-to-navigate learning experience.
- Organize content, navigation, page layouts, and information architecture so employees can quickly find and use the learning resources they need.
- Apply organizational branding, accessibility, responsive-design, and user-experience standards across pages and sites.
- Maintain content, links, permissions, metadata, and page standards to ensure information remains accurate, current, and reliable.

HealthStream (LMS) Administration

- Administer HealthStream by creating and maintaining courses, modules, learning paths, assessments, assignments, audiences, due dates, and completion requirements.
- Manage learner access, course availability, records, and completion tracking in accordance with established standards and processes.
- Configure, upload, test, and publish learning content to ensure accurate launch, navigation, scoring, completion, and tracking.
- Troubleshoot routine learner, course and system issues and coordinate escalated technical concerns with internal IT, vendors, or senior team members.
- Maintain accurate course metadata, versioning, documentation and records to support ongoing maintenance, reporting and compliance needs.
- Complete LMS work in accordance with established governance and quality standards, with final configuration.

Digital Adoption Platform Development and Administration

- Build, publish, and maintain WalkMe or comparable Digital Adoption Platform experiences, including walkthroughs, contextual guidance, SmartTips, launchers, and other point-of-need support.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate business processes and user needs into clear, intuitive in-application guidance.
- Test and update DAP content as systems and processes change, collaborating with QA, IT, and vendors as needed.
- Use adoption data, user feedback, and issue trends to improve the effectiveness and usability of digital guidance.
- Maintain consistent naming, documentation, versioning, and governance standards across DAP assets.

Presentation and Session Experience Design

- Design and refine visually compelling presentation decks that strengthen learning, storytelling, and speaker effectiveness.
- Develop graphics, data visualizations, and interactive elements such as polls, reflection questions, activities, and participant guides.
- Anticipate facilitator and speaker needs, incorporate feedback efficiently, and help reduce unnecessary revision cycles.

Collaboration and Project Contribution

- Complete assigned deliverables accurately and on time, communicating early when priorities, dependencies, or risks may affect commitments.
- Maintain current project status, working files, decisions, and deliverables in established shared tools and repositories.
- Collaborate effectively with project leads, SMEs, learning partners, technical teams, vendors, and other contributors to support shared project outcomes.
- Communicate progress, questions, recommendations, and risks clearly and coordinate handoffs so dependent work can continue without unnecessary delay.
- Incorporate feedback thoughtfully, verify revisions, and maintain expectations for quality, confidentiality, accessibility, and brand standards.
- Anticipate information or support others may need and contribute practical solutions that improve the overall project outcome.

- Bachelor's degree in instructional design, educational technology, learning and development, communications digital media, graphic design, UX or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.

- Experience developing elearning in Articulate 360, including Storyline and Rise.
- Experience working across multiple stakeholders and managing recurring deliverables in a deadline-driven environment.
