Role & responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Area Sales Manager (ASM) to manage and drive sales through the General Trade (GT) channel in the assigned territory. The role will be responsible for achieving sales targets, managing distributors, expanding market coverage, improving numeric distribution, and leading the sales team to deliver sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities
Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned territory.
Manage and develop the General Trade distribution network, including distributors and sub-distributors.
Drive primary and secondary sales across the assigned territory.
Ensure effective beat planning, route coverage, outlet productivity, and market execution.
Expand numeric and weighted distribution by identifying and opening recent outlets.
Monitor distributor stock, inventory levels, claims, collections, and working capital.
Ensure availability and visibility of the company's products across retail outlets.




Drive product-wise, SKU-wise, and channel-wise sales objectives.
Implement company schemes, promotions, trade offers, and visibility programs effectively.
Track competitor activities, pricing, schemes, recent launches, and market developments.
Conduct regular market visits with sales representatives and distributors.
Identify gaps in distribution, sales, merchandising, and execution and take corrective actions.
Build solid relationships with distributors, retailers, wholesalers, and key trade partners.
Ensure proper utilization of sales and promotional budgets.
Prepare regular sales reports, market intelligence reports, and territory reviews.
Train, coach, and motivate the frontline sales team to improve productivity and execution.
Ensure compliance with company sales processes, reporting systems, and policies
