Automotive Stampings & Assemblies Ltd. (ASAL) is looking for an experienced SCM Manager to lead Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Supplier Development, Localization, and Supply Chain Operations for automotive sheet metal, BIW, welded assemblies, suspension systems, fuel systems, and EV component programs.

The incumbent will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, driving cost optimization initiatives, ensuring material availability, and supporting new product development programs.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Procurement

- Develop and execute commodity sourcing strategies.
- Manage procurement of steel, aluminum, fabricated parts, sheet metal components, bought-out parts, and EV components.
- Handle RFQs, supplier selection, commercial negotiations, and sourcing decisions.
- Identify and onboard current suppliers.
- Drive sourcing initiatives for cost, quality, and delivery improvements.

Supplier Development & Vendor Management

- Develop and manage a high-performing supplier network.
- Conduct supplier capability assessments and audits.
- Monitor supplier performance on Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Development (QCDD).
- Lead supplier quality improvement and performance enhancement projects.




- Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers.

Cost Optimization & Localization

- Drive localization and import substitution initiatives.
- Lead value engineering and cost reduction projects.
- Execute annual rate negotiations and productivity improvements.
- Develop alternate sourcing strategies and risk mitigation plans.

Supply Chain & Inventory Management

- Ensure material availability for production requirements.
- Optimize inventory levels and working capital.
- Support demand planning and supply planning activities.
- Develop supply continuity and risk management plans.

New Product Development Support

- Support APQP, PPAP, and supplier readiness activities.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Program teams.
- Ensure timely supplier development for new product launches.

Candidate Requirements

Education

- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, Automobile Engineering.
- MBA in Supply Chain Management / Operations will be preferred.

Experience

- 10 to 16 years in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Supply Chain Management.
- Experience in Automotive Tier-1 manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to multi-plant sourcing environment preferred.
