2. About the Role

Cambria International School is looking for a qualified and experienced IGCSE Science Teacher to teach Grades 8, 9 and 10.

The teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and concept-driven Science lessons, ensuring systematic curriculum coverage, conducting practical and laboratory activities, assessing student learning, and preparing Grade 10 students for their Cambridge IGCSE examinations.

The role requires solid subject knowledge, effective classroom management, the ability to connect theoretical concepts with practical applications, and experience in teaching students at the secondary level.

3. Roles & Responsibilities

- Plan and deliver structured and engaging Science lessons for Grades 7, 8, 9 and 10 in alignment with the Cambridge curriculum.
- Ensure effective coverage of the prescribed syllabus within the academic timeline.
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, presentations, assignments, revision resources, and other subject-specific learning materials.
- Build strong conceptual understanding through inquiry-based learning, discussions, demonstrations, experiments, and real-world applications.
- Conduct and supervise laboratory practicals, experiments, demonstrations, and investigations while ensuring appropriate laboratory safety practices.
- Prepare Grade 10 students systematically for Cambridge IGCSE examinations, including syllabus coverage, revision,



past-paper practice, and examination techniques.
- Familiarise students with the Cambridge assessment structure, question formats, command words, marking expectations, and examination requirements.
- Conduct regular class tests, assessments, assignments, practical assessments, and examinations to monitor student progress.
- Analyse assessment performance to identify learning gaps and implement appropriate academic interventions.
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and support them in improving their academic performance.
- Maintain accurate records of lesson progress, assessments, student performance, practical work, and other academic documentation.
- Differentiate teaching strategies and learning resources according to students' varying learning abilities and academic needs.
- Encourage students to develop scientific reasoning, critical thinking, problem-solving, observation, experimentation, and analytical skills.
- Integrate appropriate digital tools, simulations, multimedia resources, and technology to enhance Science learning.
- Monitor individual student progress and communicate relevant academic concerns to the Academic Coordinator and School Leadership.
- Collaborate with other Science faculty members and academic coordinators for curriculum planning, assessments, practical schedules, and academic interventions.
- Participate in departmental meetings, parent interactions, academic reviews, school events, exhibitions, projects, and other institutional activities.




- Support students in Science projects, research-based activities, science fairs, and other enrichment initiatives.
- Maintain and appropriately use laboratory equipment, teaching resources, and subject materials.
- Stay updated with Cambridge curriculum developments, assessment requirements, teaching methodologies, and subject-specific developments.
- Ensure timely completion of all academic documentation, assessment-related work, and other responsibilities assigned by the Academic Coordinator or School Leadership.

4. Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Science / Physics / Chemistry / Biology or a relevant Science discipline from a recognised institution.
- B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification preferred.
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an international curriculum or Cambridge/IGCSE school.
- Prior experience teaching Grades 7, 8, 9 and 10 is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Cambridge IGCSE Science curriculum and assessment requirements.
- Experience preparing students for Grade 10 Cambridge IGCSE examinations will be an advantage.
- Strong practical/laboratory skills and experience conducting Science experiments.
- Excellent subject knowledge with the ability to simplify and explain complex scientific concepts effectively.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Ability to use technology and digital learning resources effectively.
- Strong assessment, analytical, planning, and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Academic Coordinators, teachers, students, and parents.
- A student-focused approach with a commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development.

Pay: From ₹25,000.00 per month
