Role & responsibilities The Principal will provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership to the school, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment. The role requires an experienced educational leader who can effectively lead teachers and staff, strengthen academic outcomes, uphold CBSE standards, engage parents and stakeholders, and drive the overall growth and development of the school.
The Principal will be responsible for translating the school's vision and values into effective academic practices, student development initiatives, and strong school operations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Academic Leadership
- Provide robust academic leadership and ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
- Implement and monitor the CBSE curriculum, policies, guidelines, and assessment framework.
- Develop strategies to improve student learning outcomes and academic performance.
- Monitor lesson planning, classroom practices, assessments, and academic progress.
- Promote innovative, experiential, technology-enabled, and student-centred teaching methodologies.
- Encourage continuous professional development and mentoring of teachers.
- Analyse academic data and implement appropriate improvement measures.
1. School Administration & Operations
- Oversee the effective day-to-day functioning of the school.
- Ensure compliance with CBSE requirements, statutory regulations, and school policies.
- Establish and maintain effective systems for discipline, attendance, safety, security, and student welfare.
- Ensure appropriate utilisation of school infrastructure and resources.
- Coordinate with administrative and support teams to maintain efficient school operations.
- Maintain accurate academic and administrative records.
1. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate, mentor, and develop teaching and non-teaching staff.
- Build a collaborative, accountable,
and performance-oriented school culture.
- Conduct regular staff meetings, performance reviews, and professional development initiatives.
- Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability.
- Identify talent and develop future academic and administrative leaders.
1. Student Development & Well-being
- Promote holistic development encompassing academics, sports, arts, life skills, values, and leadership.
- Ensure a safe, respectful, inclusive, and child-friendly school environment.
- Establish effective systems for student discipline, counselling, safeguarding, and welfare.
- Encourage students to participate in co-curricular and extracurricular activities.
- Address student concerns appropriately and ensure effective communication with parents.
1. Parent & Community Engagement
- Develop positive and transparent relationships with parents and guardians.
- Address parent concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
- Conduct effective parent interactions, meetings, orientations, and school events.
- Represent the school positively within the wider community.
- Strengthen the school's reputation through academic excellence and stakeholder engagement.
1. Strategic Planning & School Growth
- Develop and execute annual and long-term school improvement plans.
- Set measurable academic, operational, and developmental goals.
- Monitor key performance indicators and take corrective action where required.
- Introduce initiatives that enhance student experience and institutional effectiveness.
- Support enrolment, retention, and overall school growth initiatives in collaboration with management.
1. CBSE & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure adherence to CBSE affiliation and academic requirements.
- Keep the school updated with changes in CBSE regulations, curriculum, assessments, and policies.
- Ensure timely completion of required documentation, submissions, inspections, and statutory processes.
- Maintain appropriate standards relating to child protection, health, safety, and school governance.

Educational Qualifications
- Master's degree in Education or a relevant discipline.
- B.Ed. or equivalent qualified teaching qualification.
- Additional qualifications in educational leadership/administration will be an advantage.
- Candidates should meet applicable CBSE requirements for school heads.
Preferred candidate profile
- 12-15+ years of relevant experience in school education, including substantial experience in academic leadership and school administration.
- Prior experience as Principal / Vice Principal / Head of School / Senior Academic Leader in a CBSE or comparable K12 school is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teachers, improving academic outcomes, managing school operations, and engaging with parents and other stakeholders.
