Job summary

SAP SD Senior Consultant – Deliver SAP Sales and Distribution solutions within a complex, global pharmaceutical environment, working under the direction of the SAP Lead and Solution Architect. The role will translate approved business requirements and solution designs into configuration, functional specifications, testing, deployment, and production support activities across multiple SAP landscapes.

The successful candidate will combine strong hands-on SAP SD expertise, end-to-end order-to-cash process knowledge, disciplined delivery, and effective collaboration with business stakeholders, technical teams, leads, and architects. The role will also contribute functional input to solution design within established architecture, standards, and governance.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Deliver assigned SAP SD functional activities in accordance with the priorities, standards, and solution direction defined by the SAP Lead and Solution Architect.

§ Work with business stakeholders and the project team to analyze and clarify requirements, identify functional gaps, and document agreed requirements.

§ Contribute SAP SD functional expertise to solution-design discussions and recommend feasible configuration options for review and approval by the Lead or Architect.

§ Configure SAP SD solutions and prepare functional specifications in line with approved designs, enterprise standards, and business requirements.

§ Execute unit and functional testing, support integration and user acceptance testing, resolve defects, and assist with cutover, deployment, and post-production activities.

§ Investigate production incidents and recurring problems, perform root-cause analysis, and implement agreed corrective actions.

§ Maintain accurate functional, testing,



and support documentation and provide explicit progress updates, risks, issues, and dependencies to the Lead and project team.

§ Share knowledge with team members and support continuous improvement of delivery and operational-support practices.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

§ Deep functional and configuration experience in SAP SD, with a proven record of supporting complex, highly customised SAP landscapes.

§ Strong understanding of life sciences or pharmaceutical business processes and end-to-end order-to-cash and distribution processes.

§ Demonstrated experience in sales order management, pricing, billing, credit management, rebates and discounts, contracts, and customer master data.

§ Working knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Sales capabilities, relevant simplification items, process innovations, and their impact on existing SAP SD processes.

§ Ability to interpret approved business requirements, contribute functional input and configuration options to solution-design discussions, and prepare high-quality functional specifications, test documentation, and operational support documentation.

§ Strong understanding of SAP SD integration with finance, procurement, logistics, warehouse, transportation, trade compliance, and external non-SAP systems.

§ Experience working within ITIL-aligned incident, problem, change, and release management processes, using enterprise service-management and SAP application lifecycle management tools.

§ Experience delivering and supporting SAP solutions in GxP-validated and SOX-controlled environments, including documentation, testing, change control, auditability, and compliance requirements.

§ Ability to work effectively within geographically distributed, cross-functional teams, follow agreed solution direction, coordinate assigned activities, and proactively raise risks, issues, and design concerns to the Lead or Architect.

§ Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex functional concepts clearly to technical and business stakeholders.

§ Willingness to work in shifts and collaborate across global time zones when required.
