Job Title: SAP FICO Consultant / Senior SAP FI Consultant

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced SAP FICO Consultant with a strong focus on Financial Accounting (FI) and working knowledge of Controlling (CO). The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in configuring and supporting SAP finance processes, working closely with business users, finance teams, and cross-functional SAP consultants to deliver reliable, compliant, and efficient financial solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Accounting (FI) - Primary Focus

- Configure and support General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Bank Accounting
- Define and maintain enterprise structure, chart of accounts, company codes, fiscal year variants, posting periods, and document types
- Manage GL master data, account determination, tolerance groups, and posting keys
- Configure automatic payment program (F110), dunning, vendor/customer payment terms, and down payment processing
- Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including accruals, foreign currency valuation, GR/IR clearing, and balance carry-forward
- Configure tax procedures, including GST/VAT, withholding tax (TDS), and related statutory reporting
- Set up asset classes, depreciation areas, asset acquisition, retirement, transfer, and asset year-end closing
- Manage bank reconciliation, electronic bank statement processing, and house bank configuration
- Support intercompany transactions, cross-company postings, and inter-company reconciliation




- Ensure integration of FI with MM, SD, PP, and HR/Payroll modules
- Support statutory, financial, and audit reporting requirements

Controlling (CO) - Secondary Focus
- Configure Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, and Internal Orders
- Support cost allocations, assessments, distributions, and periodic reposting
- Assist with product costing, COPA basics, and variance analysis
- Provide management reporting for cost and profitability analysis

General
- Gather and analyze business requirements, prepare functional specifications, and coordinate with ABAP and technical teams
- Perform unit testing, support UAT, and prepare test scenarios and documentation
- Provide L2/L3 support, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve tickets within SLAs
- Participate in SAP implementation, rollout, upgrade, and S/4HANA migration projects
- Prepare user manuals, training material, and conduct end-user training
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical / Functional Skills

- 5-6 years of hands-on experience in SAP FICO, with a stronger emphasis on FI
- At least 1-2 full-cycle SAP implementations and experience in support/AMS projects
- Robust knowledge of GL, AP,



AR, Asset Accounting, Bank Accounting, and period-end closing
- Good understanding of tax configuration (GST/VAT/TDS) and statutory compliance
- Working knowledge of CO modules: Cost Center Accounting, Profit Center Accounting, Internal Orders, and COPA
- Understanding of integration points between FI and MM, SD, PP, and HR
- Ability to write functional specifications and work with ABAP developers on RICEFW objects
- Familiarity with financial reporting tools and standard SAP FI/CO reports
- Knowledge of financial accounting principles, IFRS/IND AS, and audit requirements

Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field; CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred

Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a team as well as independently
- Client-facing experience and ability to manage priorities under deadlines

Preferred / Good to Have
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance (Simple Finance), including Universal Journal (ACDOCA) and New Asset Accounting
- Exposure to SAP Business Partner (BP) approach and S/4HANA migration projects
- Knowledge of Group Reporting, Central Finance, or Advanced Financial Closing
- Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps for finance and embedded analytics
- Experience with Credit Management, Treasury, or Bank Communication Management
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum or SAP Activate methodology
- SAP certification in Financial Accounting or Management Accounting
