ROLE PURPOSE The Safety Engineer shall support the Safety Head in implementing and monitoring protected working practices across the project site, with strong field presence at active work fronts.

The role is to identify hazards before they result in incidents, verify that prescribed controls are actually followed, intervene where unsafe conditions exist and follow corrective actions through to closure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct regular field inspections and monitor compliance with MEPL, Client and project HSE requirements.
- Identify unsafe acts/conditions and ensure immediate correction or escalation depending on the level of risk.
- Support risk assessments, JSA/Method Statements and Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements before commencement of applicable activities.
- Monitor critical activities including work at height, scaffolding, lifting operations, excavation, hot work, electrical/temporary power, confined spaces, material handling and vehicle/equipment movement.
- Verify PPE, barricading, access, signage, housekeeping and other required work-front safety controls.
- Conduct/support employee and contractor safety induction, toolbox talks and task-specific safety briefings.
- Monitor contractor/workforce compliance and promptly report repeated or serious safety violations to the Safety Head and concerned execution team.
- Coordinate inspection of scaffolds, lifting tools/tackles, safety equipment and other items requiring periodic safety verification.
- Support reporting and investigation of incidents, near misses and unsafe occurrences and follow corrective/preventive actions to closure.
- Support emergency preparedness,



fire-safety arrangements, first-aid readiness and emergency drills.
- Maintain required HSE inspection records, PTW/JSA records, training records, observations and corrective-action trackers.
- Provide concise daily/weekly safety inputs covering major risks, observations, pending actions and support required.

ACCOUNTABILITY & AUTHORITY The Safety Engineer may intervene and seek stoppage of work where an immediate serious safety risk exists and shall promptly escalate the matter to the Safety Head/Project Management. The Safety Engineer monitors and verifies safe execution; the Engineer/Supervisor controlling the work remains responsible for executing that work safely.

QUALIFICATION & COMPETENCIES

Qualification: Degree/Diploma in Engineering with recognised Industrial/Construction Safety qualification/certification as applicable.

Preferably 48 years of construction/project safety experience, with exposure to Data Centre, industrial, infrastructure, MEP or large construction projects.

Should have practical knowledge of construction safety, PTW, JSA/risk assessment, work at height, scaffolding, lifting, excavation, electrical safety, fire safety, incident reporting and emergency response.
