We're looking to hire a Research Specialist to join our Metalworking Fluids Technical team at Coraplus India Private Limited, Thane.

Location: Thane

Role purpose:

Develop and improve Metalworking Fluid (MWF) formulations, run the lab and provide the technical support, data and documentation that customers and Sales need.

Key responsibilities:

1. Formulation development: Develop recent MWF formulations and optimise existing ones with the senior research team.
2. Testing and analysis: Test MWF products to established methods, analyse the results and give conclusions and recommendations to senior researchers.
3. Application and trial data: Plan and run application and customer trials; generate and report the data.
4. Customer technical support: Support customers with the Sales team on product selection, application, troubleshooting and complaints.
5. R&D; inputs: Collect customer feedback and market requirements and pass them to R&D; as structured inputs.
6. Technical documentation: Prepare and maintain TDS, SDS and product presentations.
7. Records and data integrity: Keep complete records of procedures and results; keep data accurate and consistent across the team.
8. Reports: Issue lab,



project and trial reports on time in the company format for internal and external readers; present findings clearly.
9. Quality control: Support QC of MWF products and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements and company policies.
10. Technical knowledge: Track MWF developments through literature reviews; present relevant findings to the team.
11. Lab supervision and safety: Supervise daily lab work, equipment calibration and housekeeping; enforce lab safety protocols.
12. Teamwork: Work with researchers, technicians and Sales on shared projects; share findings in team reviews.
13. Response times: Answer Sales and customer queries within the agreed time.

Qualifications and experience

- B.Sc. / M.Sc. in Chemistry, B. Tech in Chemical Engineering or Oil / Petroleum Technology.
- 5–8 years in MWF or lubricant formulation, including at least 2 years supervising lab staff.
- Knowledge of MWF chemistry (soluble, semi-synthetic, synthetic and neat oils), emulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, EP additives and biocides.
- Working knowledge of ASTM / IP / DIN test methods, GHS SDS preparation and lab instruments (viscometry, FTIR, ICP-OES).
- Good written English for reports and customer communication; MS Office.
