AMYLO is a materials technology company developing biobased and compostable polymer materials, coatings and additives using renewable feedstocks and polymer-processing technologies.

We are looking for a Research Assistant – Biopolymers & Materials R&D; to support our ongoing development activities in biopolymer formulations, coatings and material characterisation.

Role Overview The Research Assistant will work closely with the R&D; team on the development, optimisation and testing of biopolymer-based materials.

The role will involve hands-on laboratory work, formulation development, processing trials, sample preparation and characterisation of polymeric materials.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and optimise biopolymer and biodegradable polymer formulations for coatings and other applications.
- Conduct laboratory-scale polymer blending, compounding and formulation trials.
- Perform coating trials using appropriate laboratory coating techniques and evaluate coating performance.
- Prepare samples for coating and other processing trials.
- Carry out material characterisation and interpret results related to mechanical, thermal, barrier, surface and biodegradation properties.




- Maintain detailed records of formulations, processing parameters, test results and experimental observations.
- Coordinate with external laboratories for material testing and certification-related activities.
- Support scale-up of successful laboratory formulations to pilot/production-scale processing.

Educational Qualification

Required

- B.Tech / B.Sc. in Polymer Science / Polymer Chemistry/ Organic Chemistry/ Synthetic Chemistry/ Materials Science / Materials Engineering or an allied discipline

Preferred:
- Candidates with a dissertation, project or prior work involving biopolymers, biodegradable polymers, polymer blends, coatings, composites or sustainable materials.
- Prior hands-on experience with biobased coatings or polymer formulation development will be an advantage.

Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who:

- Has a solid interest in biopolymer and sustainable materials R&D.;
- Enjoys hands-on experimental and laboratory work.
- Has good fundamentals in polymer/material chemistry.
- Can independently plan and execute experiments under guidance.
- Has an analytical approach to troubleshooting formulation and processing problems.
- Can document experiments systematically and communicate technical findings clearly.

This is a research-oriented role with significant involvement in the development of commercially relevant sustainable polymer materials.
