: R&D; Manager (Food Technologist)

Location: Mohali, Punjab

Salary: ₹60,000 – ₹80,000 per month

Role Summary

We are seeking a skilled and driven R&D; Manager to join our Mohali-based team. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on leadership and experience in New Product Development (NPD) and Technology Transfer, focusing on Nutraceuticals, Sports Nutrition, and Health Supplements. This role requires strong formulation expertise, process innovation, regulatory compliance, and the ability to lead the process of bringing science-backed products to life from lab to market.

Key Responsibilities

1. Recent Product Development & Formulation

- Lead and manage NPD projects across target categories, including Sports Nutrition (Protein Supplements, Weight Management) and Wellness (Skin, Hair, Sleep, Diabetes, Sexual Wellness, Multivitamins, Pre/Post-natal, Memory Improvement, and Fertility).
- Conduct literature reviews, execute excipient selection, and perform compatibility studies.
- Select ingredients and determine active quantities based strictly on validated scientific research papers and clinical evidence.
- Check formulation feasibility and design process flowcharts for new product introductions.

2. Sensory & Flavor Optimization

- Develop and implement advanced taste-masking strategies for bitter or non-palatable ingredients to ensure maximum consumer acceptability.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and coordinate with cross-functional teams for precise flavor and color development.

3. Scale-up & Technology Transfer

- Execute lab-scale and pilot trials to validate formulation efficacy and manufacturability.
- Ensure a smooth technology transfer of finalized formulations from the R&D; lab to the production floor.
- Collaborate with production and procurement teams for process standardization and cost optimization.





4. Regulatory Compliance & Documentation

- Ensure all formulations strictly comply with FSSAI Nutraceutical Regulations and ICMR RDA limits.
- Design and validate nutritional information panels and functional label claims.
- Support shelf-life and stability testing protocols.
- Prepare and maintain thorough documentation including Trial Reports, BOM, DTM, MFR, and data for regulatory submissions.

Qualifications & Experience
- Education: M.Tech in Food Technology.
- Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of dedicated industry experience in R&D; within Nutraceuticals, Sports Nutrition, Infant Nutrition, or Dietary Supplements.

Required Skills
- Formulation Expertise: Deep understanding of functional ingredients, excipient behavior, and product matrices.
- Problem Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot taste profiles and scalability issues.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong grasp of FSSAI guidelines, functional claim validation, and regulatory documentation.
- Technical Writing & Leadership: Ability to maintain meticulous MFRs, BOMs, and trial documentation, while managing projects effectively.

Working Hours & Benefits
- Schedule: Monday to Saturday (8 working hours per day).
