About the Role

OptiStruX Consulting Engineers LLP is looking for an experienced Quantity Estimator & BOQ Preparer with a proven track record in accurately estimating quantities for high-rise RCC and structural steel buildings.

The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed quantity take-offs, BOQs, material estimates, and cost-related documentation based on structural and architectural drawings.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare accurate quantity take-offs and BOQs for RCC, structural steel, and associated construction works.
- Estimate quantities for high-rise RCC buildings, including foundations, basements, columns, beams, slabs, shear walls, retaining walls, staircases, etc.
- Prepare quantity estimates for structural steel buildings, including primary and secondary steel members, connections, plates, bolts, and other components.
- Read and interpret structural, architectural, and construction drawings.
- Prepare detailed reinforcement steel (rebar) quantities and BBS, including bar lengths, weights, laps, couplers, and wastage where applicable.
- Prepare concrete, reinforcement, structural steel, masonry, and other construction quantity statements.
- Cross-check quantities against drawings and structural design requirements to ensure accuracy.
- Identify discrepancies, omissions, and changes between drawings and BOQs.
- Assist in preparing rate analysis, cost estimates, and tender documentation where required.
- Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, contractors,



and project teams to clarify drawings and quantities.
- Maintain organized quantity sheets, BOQs, revisions, and supporting calculations.

Required Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in quantity estimation and BOQ preparation.
- Proven experience in quantity estimation for high-rise RCC buildings is mandatory.
- Solid experience with structural steel quantity estimation is required.
- Ability to independently prepare quantities from detailed structural and architectural drawings.
- Strong understanding of RCC construction, reinforcement detailing, structural steel, and construction methodology.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and quantity take-off/estimation software.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and ability to interpret drawings is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of numerical accuracy.

Preferred Experience Candidates with experience working on G+15, G+20 and higher residential/commercial towers, basements, podiums, and large structural steel projects will be preferred.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who can independently produce reliable and accurate quantities, rather than someone whose experience is limited to basic residential quantity estimation. The candidate should be comfortable working with large and technically complex structural drawings and should have a demonstrated ability to identify quantities accurately and systematically.
