Role Description This full time, on-site Quality Engineer role is based in Chennai.

The Quality

Engineer will monitor and improve product and process quality across manufacturing lines, including conducting inspections, audits, and root cause analyses for non-conformities.

Responsibilities include developing and implementing quality plans, supporting APQP and PPAP activities, maintaining documentation in line with ISO and IATF 16949 requirements, and collaborating with production, R&D;, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues. The role also involves using statistical tools for data analysis,



driving corrective and preventive actions, liaising with customers and suppliers on quality matters, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives such as defect reduction and process optimization.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Quality Engineering and Product Quality to ensure robust design, process capability, and adherence to specifications.
- Practical experience in Quality Control, including in-process and final inspections, testing methods, and use of measurement tools and gauges.
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance practices, such as audits, documentation, and compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
- Ability to contribute to Quality Management activities, including setting quality objectives, monitoring KPIs, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Automobile/Production Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Familiarity with automotive industry quality tools (e.g., FMEA, Control Plans, APQP, PPAP, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis).
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, and working with ERP or MES systems.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively on the shop floor and in cross-functional teams.
- Previous experience in automotive components or engine-related manufacturing is an advantage.
