We are looking for a QC Engineer (Shop floor) with strong knowledge and practical experience in welding quality control, inspection, documentation, and Quality Management System (QMS)

requirements. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring welding activities, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and specifications, coordinating inspections, maintaining quality records, and driving continuous improvement in welding quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor and control welding activities to ensure compliance with approved WPS/PQR, drawings, specifications, and applicable codes and standards .
- Perform inspection of incoming materials, fit-up, welding, visual inspection, and final inspection.
- Verify welder qualifications, welding consumables, preheating/interpass temperature, welding parameters, and traceability .
- Coordinate and review NDT activities such as RT, UT, MT, and PT as applicable.
- Identify welding defects, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) .
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, welding inspection records, checklists, NCRs, repair records, and quality dossiers.
- Ensure proper identification and traceability of materials, weld joints, welders, consumables, and inspection status.
- Monitor welding repair rates and quality trends and support initiatives to reduce weld rejection and improve welding quality .
- Participate in internal inspections, customer inspections, third-party inspections, and quality audits.
- Coordinate with production, welding, engineering, and project teams to resolve quality-related issues.
- Prepare and review Quality Inspection Plans (ITP), inspection procedures, method statements, and quality formats .
- Maintain documentation in accordance with the company's QMS procedures and ISO 9001 requirements .




- Support preparation and compilation of Manufacturing/Quality Record Books (MRB/QCR), inspection dossiers, and final quality documentation .
- Ensure timely closure of NCRs, observations, punch points, and audit findings.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of welding processes and quality systems .

Required Knowledge & Skills

- Strong knowledge of welding inspection and quality control .
- Good understanding of welding processes such as SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW , as applicable.
- Knowledge of welding defects, their causes, prevention, and repair methods.
- Knowledge of NDT methods and inspection requirements .
- Familiarity with applicable welding and fabrication codes/standards such as ASME, AWS, API, ISO, and project-specific specifications .
- Knowledge of QMS documentation, ISO 9001, NCR, CAPA, root-cause analysis, and audit requirements .
- Good documentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to review drawings, specifications, WPS/PQR, ITPs, and inspection documents.
- Valuable coordination and communication skills with production, engineering, clients, and third-party inspectors.

Preferred Qualifications

- Diploma Engg. / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2-3 years’ experience in fabrication industry.
- NDT Level II certification in relevant methods such as UT, RT, MT, or PT is an advantage.
- Experience with ISO 9001/QMS documentation and quality audits is preferred.
