Job Title: Mid-Level QA/QC Specialist

Reports to: Head of Development/Engineering

Working Hours: Part time, 2 - 3 hours per day

Purpose

We're looking for a QA/QC Specialist to help quality keep pace with our growth. You'll get up to speed on how our systems work quickly, take genuine ownership of the features you test, and work with a level of independence — we can hand you a ticket and trust you to define what needs testing, carry it out properly, and flag anything that needs attention, without needing step-by-step direction.

This is a part-time role, around 2-3 hours a day to match the team's cadence, with real scope to grow as the need does.

Main Responsibilities and Duties

- Get up to speed on how our website and systems work, proactively building a picture of critical paths, edge cases, and the areas most prone to problems — documenting what you learn so testing gets faster and sharper over time.
- Analyse Jira tickets thoroughly to define target test plans: the right test cases and edge cases for that specific piece of work, informed by what you already know tends to go wrong.
- Test methodically and consistently rather than ad hoc, while using good judgement to match the depth of testing to the size and risk of the change.
- Pick up developer and domain terminology quickly, so you can communicate fluently with the dev team and ask sharp, relevant questions while testing.
- Raise bugs as explicit, consistently formatted tickets, and flag issues directly on the relevant GitHub PR so the development team can act on them in real time.
- Test with a mobile-first mindset,



using tools like BrowserStack to cover multiple devices and browsers — open to any other tools that help you do the job well.
- Look for ways to bring AI into your process, whether for test automation, generating test cases, or documentation.

Skills & Experience

- A methodical approach to building and maintaining test cases and scenarios, balancing thoroughness with sound judgment on where to focus effort.
- Ability to write transparent, consistent bug reports and flag issues directly on Pull Requests within GitHub.
- Hands-on experience executing cross-device and cross-browser testing (e.g., BrowserStack) driven by a mobile-first mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with developers and pick up technical/domain language quickly.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a hands-on willingness to tackle complex challenges, share knowledge, and support team goals.
- Passion for quality standards, paired with an openness to feedback and a readiness to constructively challenge existing workflows.
- Practical experience using standard QA/QC toolsets for test management and defect tracking.
- Background testing in an online/e-commerce environment.
- Experience with—or a strong interest in—AI-assisted testing tools and test automation frameworks.
- Ability to quickly absorb domain knowledge, adapt to new testing paradigms, and continuously build technical skills.
