Role Description The Purchase Head is a full-time, on-site role based in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, responsible for overseeing and optimizing all procurement activities across relevant business units of the Homeland Group. This role involves developing and implementing procurement strategies, identifying and qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts and pricing, and ensuring timely availability of materials and services.

The Purchase

Head will manage vendor relationships, monitor supplier performance, and collaborate with manufacturing, finance, operations, and leadership teams to align purchasing decisions with business goals and budgets. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing purchase requisitions, approving purchase orders, analyzing market trends and commodity prices, maintaining accurate procurement records,



and enforcing compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role also requires continuous improvement of procurement processes, cost-saving initiatives, risk management, and mentoring a purchasing team to achieve high standards of efficiency and integrity.

Qualifications

- Robust expertise in procurement and supply chain management, including vendor selection, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing.
- Proficiency in inventory management, demand planning, and cost control within manufacturing or multi-vertical business environments.
- Experience with purchasing systems or ERP tools, data analysis, and reporting to support informed decision-making.
- Solid understanding of commodity markets, especially in sectors such as edible oils, agrochemicals, and related industrial inputs.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team supervision, performance management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of relevant legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements in procurement and commercial contracts.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, SCM) is an advantage.
