Key Responsibilities1.

Site Operations

Management

- Manage day-to-day MSW collection and transportation operations across the assigned project area.
- Ensure 100% coverage of designated collection routes and timely transportation of waste to the designated processing/disposal facility.
- Monitor route-wise operational performance, vehicle deployment, collection efficiency, and service levels.
- Address operational issues and take immediate corrective action to avoid service disruption.
- Coordinate with municipal authorities and other project stakeholders for smooth project execution.

2. Vehicle &

- Fleet Management

- Manage the complete fleet of collection and transportation vehicles including tippers, compactors, auto tippers, tractors, or other project-specific vehicles.
- Ensure proper vehicle deployment as per route and operational requirements.
- Monitor vehicle availability, breakdowns, preventive maintenance, fuel consumption, utilization, and downtime.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure timely servicing and minimize vehicle breakdowns.
- Maintain effective control over vehicle movement, route adherence, and daily fleet utilization.
- Review GPS/vehicle tracking data and take corrective action wherever required.

3.

Manpower

Management

- Plan and manage manpower deployment including drivers, supervisors, helpers, field workers, and other operational staff.
- Ensure optimum manpower utilization and shift-wise deployment.
- Monitor attendance, absenteeism, productivity, discipline, and workforce performance.
- Guide and develop supervisors and field teams to achieve operational targets.

4. Route &

- Productivity Management





- Plan and optimize collection and transportation routes to improve vehicle utilization and reduce unnecessary operating costs.
- Monitor daily tonnage, trip performance, route completion, and vehicle productivity.
- Identify operational gaps and implement measures to improve efficiency and service quality.

5. Municipal &

- Client Coordination

- Act as the primary operational point of contact with municipal officials and client representatives.
- Attend operational review meetings and ensure timely closure of client/municipal concerns.
- Ensure compliance with contractual requirements, service-level parameters, and project commitments.
- Prepare and present operational MIS and performance reports to management.

6. Cost &

- Performance Control

- Monitor project operating expenses including fuel, manpower, vehicle maintenance, and other operational costs.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization without compromising service quality.
- Track key operational KPIs and take corrective actions to achieve project targets.

7. Safety &

- Compliance

- Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable statutory requirements, and project-specific safety standards.
- Promote safe working practices for drivers, workers, supervisors, and field personnel.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety procedures across the project.
- Coordinate with the EHS team to address safety observations and incidents.

Reporting &

- Documentation

- Review daily operational reports, vehicle reports, manpower reports, fuel consumption, breakdown reports, and productivity data.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of daily, weekly, and monthly MIS.
- Maintain proper records related to vehicles, manpower, routes, operations, and client requirements.

Candidate Profile
- Graduate/Diploma/BE/B.Tech in Operations, Mechanical, Civil, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- 10–15+ years of relevant experience in MSW, waste management, municipal operations, logistics, fleet operations, transportation, or similar service projects.
- Solid experience in municipal solid waste collection & transportation operations.
- Hands-on experience in fleet/vehicle management and large-scale manpower handling.
- Good understanding of route planning, vehicle productivity, fuel management, maintenance coordination, and operational cost control.
- Experience in handling municipal authorities/client representatives will be preferred.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and team-management skills.
- Willingness to work at site and manage field operations in a dynamic environment.
