Job Summary The Production Manager is responsible for planning, managing, and optimizing production activities across Casting and CNC Machining operations. The role ensures achievement of production targets, machine utilization, product quality, cost control, timely dispatch, manpower productivity, and continuous improvement while maintaining safety and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute daily production activities to achieve production targets.
- Monitor production schedules and ensure adherence to customer delivery commitments.
- Improve machine utilization (OEE) and minimize downtime through coordination with the Maintenance team.
- Control production quality by reducing rejection and implementing corrective actions.
- Manage casting operations, material flow, tooling, and consumable usage.
- Optimize manpower deployment and improve productivity.
- Monitor inventory, WIP, and MRP to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and company policies.
- Coordinate with QA, PPC, Stores, Maintenance, Purchase, and Dispatch teams.
- Review production KPIs and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production reports.
Required Skills for the Position
- Strong knowledge of Casting and CNC Machining processes.
- Expertise in Production Planning & Control (PPC).
- Knowledge of OEE, TPM, Lean Manufacturing, and Continuous Improvement.
- Understanding of IATF 16949 and automotive manufacturing systems.
- Root Cause Analysis, CAPA, and problem-solving skills.
- Leadership and team management abilities.
- Solid analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems.
Qualification
- Diploma./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
Experience
- 13- 20 years of experience in Automotive/Railway Parts Manufacturing or CNC Machining.
