1. Job Purpose

The Production Head – Operations is responsible for managing and controlling the complete production operations of the factory. The role ensures that all interior furniture, fixtures, and related products are manufactured on time, within the approved cost, as per drawings and specifications, and with the required quality standards. The position will lead production teams, coordinate with Design, PPC, Purchase, Stores, Quality, Projects and Dispatch, and continuously improve productivity, efficiency and manufacturing processes.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Production Planning & Execution

- Plan and supervise daily, weekly and monthly production activities.
- Ensure production targets are achieved as per project schedules.
- Allocate manpower, machines and resources effectively.
- Monitor production progress and identify delays at an early stage.
- Ensure production is carried out according to approved drawings, BOMs and specifications.
- Coordinate with PPC for production planning and priorities.
- Ensure smooth flow of materials and work between different production stages.

B. Factory Operations Management
- Manage overall factory operations including:
- Cutting
- CNC operations
- Edge banding
- Carpentry
- Assembly
- Lamination
- Polishing/painting
- Metal-related works, wherever applicable
- Final inspection
- Packing and dispatch
- Ensure proper coordination between different production sections.
- Improve factory layout, workflow and material movement.
- Maintain discipline and proper work practices on the shop floor.

C. Productivity & Efficiency
- Improve labour productivity and machine utilization.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Reduce idle time, waiting time and production delays.




- Monitor production output against planned quantities.
- Develop methods to improve production speed without compromising quality.
- Introduce standard operating procedures and better manufacturing practices.

D. Quality Control
- Ensure products are manufactured according to approved drawings and quality standards.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department to reduce defects and rework.
- Monitor rejection, rework and customer/project complaints.
- Identify root causes of recurring production defects.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Promote a Right First Time approach in production.

E. Material & Wastage Control
- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Monitor consumption of plywood, MDF, laminates, veneers, hardware, adhesives, paints and other materials.
- Control material wastage and unnecessary consumption.
- Monitor scrap generation and promote proper reuse/recovery wherever possible.
- Ensure materials are used according to approved BOMs.

F. Manpower Management
- Plan manpower requirements based on production workload.
- Allocate workers according to skills and production priorities.
- Monitor attendance, productivity and discipline.
- Train and develop production supervisors, engineers, operators and workers.
- Identify skill gaps and arrange necessary training.
- Build a responsible and efficient production team.

G. Machine & Equipment Management
- Ensure proper utilization of production machinery and equipment.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Minimize machine downtime.
- Ensure machines are operated safely and correctly.




- Monitor machine capacity and identify requirements for new machinery or upgrades.

H. Coordination with Other Departments

Work closely with

- Design: For drawings, specifications and design-related clarifications.
- PPC: For production planning, priorities and project schedules.
- Purchase: For timely procurement of materials.
- Stores: For material availability and inventory coordination.
- Quality: For inspection, rejection and quality improvement.
- Projects/Sites: For site requirements and delivery schedules.
- Dispatch/Logistics: For packing and timely dispatch.
- HR: For manpower, attendance, training and disciplinary matters.
- Management: For production performance, capacity and operational issues.

I. Cost Control
- Control production costs through effective manpower and material utilization.
- Reduce rework, rejection, wastage and overtime costs.
- Monitor production expenses against approved budgets.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction without affecting quality.

J. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe working practices throughout the factory.
- Ensure workers use appropriate PPE and follow safety procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping and 5S practices.
- Report and investigate production-related accidents/incidents.
- Ensure compliance with applicable factory safety and operational requirements.

K. MIS & Reporting Prepare and submit regular reports covering:
- Daily production output
- Production plan vs. actual
- Machine utilization
- Manpower productivity
- Rejection and rework
- Material wastage
- Production delays
- Overtime
- Machine breakdowns
- Dispatch readiness
- Major production issues and corrective actions

1. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

The performance of the Production Head – Operations may be measured through:
- Achievement of production targets.
- On-time completion of production schedules.
- Productivity per employee/man-hour.
- Machine utilization.
- Reduction in production delays

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹85,000.00 per month
