Product Engineering Manager

SUMMARY: Manage and supports the team and associated delivery of engineering work including product development, sustaining engineering and testing. Utilizes technical problem solving, project management skills, and sound people management to meet business objectives. Ensures compliance with company policies and helps improve and maintain engineering processes and best practices. Designs and directs engineering projects through the respective design team, ensuring speed and quality outputs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

- 15-20+ years engineering experience, preferably oilfield.
- 5+ years leading engineers/designers.
- Direct experience with downhole drilling or completion tools.
- Product design from concept design prototype qualification field deployment.
- Strong understanding of API 10F, API 10D, API 11D1, API 19AC, as applicable to the product portfolio.
- Experience with pressure-containing mechanical products.
- Strong GD&T;, tolerance stack-up, FEA and materials knowledge.
- Experience with metals, heat treatment, elastomers and coatings.
- Creo/Pro-E, SolidWorks or similar CAD experience.
- PLM/PDM experience.
- Experience with NPI, design reviews, FMEA, qualification testing and CAPA.
- Comfortable working directly with manufacturing and quality.
- Able to manage sustaining engineering and new product development simultaneously.
- Strong English communication and ability to interact with Houston/global engineering.
- Ideally has worked with API/ISO-certified manufacturing organizations
- Provide technical product support to Supply Chain, Manufacturing,



and Sales and Operations as required to ensure on-time delivery and customer requirements are always achieved.
- Maintain and improve engineering-related processes and procedures by adopting modern and creative approaches to design and working practices.
- Provide support and investigate any product quality related issues.
- Openly contribute to technical discussions, design reviews, and internal meetings.

- Display strong leadership and management skills including performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, and plan execution.
- Communicate technical concepts, needs, and instructions accurately, clearly, and concisely to both technical and non-technical colleagues in English and Hindi.
- Interact with, influence, resolve conflict and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures and disciplines, at times under stressful circumstances.
- Make decisions with direct consequences to the company.

Education & Knowledge
- Mechanical engineering (or similar) diploma or degree with minimum 15-20 years of experience is respective field.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and PDM Pro.
- Mastery of best practices of engineering documentation, organization, and systems.
- Spoken and written fluency in English and Hindi.

Work Experience
- Extensive experience with well construction / completion / casing accessory industry equipment.
- Experience in a technical management / leadership role.
- Experience working and leading other in India.
- CAD drafting and design experience; programming and machining experience a plus.
