Role & responsibilities

1. Strong knowledge on crystallization and purification techniques.
2. Hands-on experience in executing crystallization process development based on the scientific principles of particle formation and growth, including solvent screening, solubility evaluation, and Metastable Zone Width (MSZW) studies.
3. Ability to design, plan, and execute scientifically robust crystallization processes with minimal supervision.
4. Capability to develop, scale up, and successfully transfer crystallization processes for intermediates and APIs to kilo labs, pilot plants, or commercial manufacturing based on sound scientific rationale.
5. Strong knowledge on particle size reduction through crystallization and particle engineering (micronization) techniques, including powder processing methodologies.
6. Good understanding of physical property characterization and analytical techniques such as PXRD, PSD, DSC, TGA, HPLC, and GC, with the ability to interpret analytical data effectively.
7. Ability to collaborate effectively with Process R&D; and Process Engineering teams as part of cross-functional project teams (CFTs)



to provide technically sound solutions for crystallization and downstream processing.
8. Proactively maintain laboratory equipment, facilities, and supporting systems in compliance with Positive Laboratory Practices (GLP), while ensuring adherence to equipment SOPs, process SOPs, and Lean practices.
9. Preparation of Technical documents while adhering to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and accurately record experimental observations using Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN).
10. Strictly comply with Setting, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines to ensure personal, laboratory, and workplace safety at all times.
11. Expertise on handling process equipment such as cylindrical reactors and PolyBlock systems, along with the working principles of Process Analytical Technology (PAT) tools used in crystallization process development and monitoring.

Preferred candidate profile

M.Sc with 5-10yrs experience in Process chemist role.

Candidate from CDMO industry are preferred.
