We are looking for a skilled Prepress Designer responsible for preparing and processing artwork files for production. The role involves checking, correcting, and optimizing designs to ensure they are technically accurate and production-ready as per customer requirements and printing specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Artwork & Prepress

- Prepare and process artwork files for printing and packaging production.
- Check artwork for size, bleed, margins, fonts, images, colors, and other technical specifications.
- Ensure artwork is production-ready before sending it to the printing/production team.
- Make necessary corrections and modifications in artwork as per production requirements.

Color & Printing Setup

- Manage CMYK, Pantone, spot colors, and color separations.
- Check color accuracy and ensure proper color separation for printing.
- Prepare files according to the specific printing process and machine requirements.
- Verify trapping, overprinting, knockout, registration, and other prepress parameters.

Packaging Artwork

- Work on packaging layouts, labels, cartons, pouches, and other printed packaging materials.
- Ensure correct placement of text, graphics, barcodes, logos, regulatory information, and other mandatory content.
- Coordinate with structural/design teams for artwork alignment with packaging dimensions and dielines.

File Checking & Quality Control

- Conduct detailed preflight checks before releasing files for production.
- Identify missing fonts, linked images, low-resolution images, incorrect colors, and other artwork issues.
- Check PDF files and other production formats for errors.
- Maintain proper version control and file naming standards.

Production Coordination

- Coordinate with Design, Production, Planning, Quality, and Customer Service teams.
- Clarify artwork-related issues before production.
- Provide technical support to production teams regarding artwork and printing requirements.




- Ensure timely release of approved artwork for production.

Documentation

- Maintain organized artwork files, approved proofs, and production records.
- Follow company SOPs and artwork approval procedures.
- Maintain proper records of revisions and customer approvals.

Required Qualifications & Skills

Education

- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Printing Technology, Fine Arts, or a related field.

Technical Skills

- Strong knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Good understanding of CorelDRAW is preferred.
- Knowledge of prepress processes and printing technologies.
- Understanding of CMYK, Pantone, spot colors, color separation, trapping, and overprinting.
- Knowledge of bleed, crop marks, dielines, resolution, and print specifications.
- Good understanding of PDF/X standards and print-ready file preparation.
- Basic knowledge of packaging artwork and printing processes.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in printing and packaging industry.
- Experience working on adaptable packaging, labels, mono cartons, corrugated packaging, or other printed packaging.
- Knowledge of gravure, flexographic, offset, or digital printing processes.
- Experience with barcode and QR code placement/verification.
- Familiarity with Esko or other prepress/packaging workflow software will be an advantage.
