Role & responsibilities

- SSRS Modernization Convert legacy SSRS reports into Power BI Paginated Reports using Power BI Report Builder while preserving existing business logic, calculations, and report functionality.

- Power BI Paginated Reporting – Design, develop, optimize, and deploy paginated reports to support reporting requirements.

- SQL Development – Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and datasets using SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).

- Source Control &
- Git Management

– Utilize Git repositories for version control, branching, merging, code reviews, and release management.

- Deployment &

- Environment Management

– Manage and promote reporting assets across Development, Test, and Production environments using Git integration and deployment pipelines.

- Governance &

- Standards

– Enforce reporting standards, naming conventions, folder structures, security models, and workplace governance best practices.

- Testing &

- Validation

– Validate report accuracy, reconcile outputs between legacy SSRS and Power BI Paginated Reports, and ensure data integrity throughout the migration process.

- Stakeholder Collaboration – Partner with business users, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements, resolve issues, and deliver high-quality reporting solutions.

- Creates a culture of continuous improvement, responsiveness, and security awareness in all areas of IT infrastructure and related operations.

Skills

- Strong experience with SSRS, Power BI Report Builder, Power BI Paginated Reports, and Power BI Desktop and Service.

- Advanced proficiency in SQL Server, SSMS, T-SQL query development, and performance tuning.

- Hands-on experience with Git,



including branching strategies, pull requests, merge conflict resolution, and repository management.

- Experience managing solutions across Development, Test, and Production environments.

- Understanding of Power BI deployment pipelines and release management best practices.

- Ability to interpret, document, and replicate complex business logic from legacy reporting systems.

- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Qualifications

- Experience with Microsoft Power BI Desktop and Microsoft Report Builder.

- Familiarity with CI/CD practices for BI and analytics solutions.

- Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub, or similar deployment automation platforms.

- Knowledge of DAX, Power BI Desktop, and advanced data modeling techniques.

- Understanding of enterprise data governance, security, and reporting best practices.

Education/Certifications (Preferred)

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300).

- Experience with Power BI Paginated Reports, Power BI Report Builder, SQL Server, and Git-based source control required.

- Additional certifications in Microsoft Fabric, Azure DevOps, or related Microsoft data and analytics technologies are a plus.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to work in a remote work environment for extended periods of time

- Prolonged periods of sitting while working at a computer and using multiple monitors

- Regular use of hands, fingers, and vision for keyboarding, reviewing technical documentation, dashboards, and diagrams

- Ability to participate in extended meetings via video or phone conferencing.
